Wladimir/Wach proved to me that Wlad is P4P

Just watched this last week. in the first 3-4 rounds, we got a decisive answer to how Wlad would fight without his size advantage. He came right at the bigger man, used a lot of feints and offensive head movement, and established his power. He looked GOOD in those rounds. I've never really been entertained or impressed by his style, but he was a different fighter for those rounds.

Once he had Wach shook with his power, he went back to the boxing/grabbing he's known for, but in those first few rounds...if you shrunk Wlad down into any weight class he would be dominant. Dude has skillz.

I don't want to bother explaining the difference between Wlad-Wach and Lewis-Grant.

Wach got a decent chin but Grant trumps him in every single other area from strength to power from skills to in fighting.. Yet Grant was ktfo in 2 .

Vitali caught Wach with a glove with the stuffing/padding pulled out of it before the fight. Also, Wach was on steroids, has been suspended. Could Wach have taken all those shots without the steroids? Grant had a glass jaw, Wach has a rock jaw like Tex Cobb had. By the way, Vlad simply toyed with Wilder in sparring for the Wach fight. Vlad is totally superior to Wilder, no competition at all.

Heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder was arrested May 4th in Las Vegas and released on $15,000 bail. The charge: one count of domestic battery by strangulation.

 

Wach is the heavyweight F- version of Brandon Rios.

The first round is amazing, no one of the two seems a superheavyweight; and the champion is incredible in how he nullifies every Wach's attack, and controls the distance...
Recently i've casually watched Wladimir vs Jameel McCline... another amazing match, Mc Cline is 6'7 and even heavyer than wlad... i've read that after that match, Mike Tyson said in an interview he was even more amazed by wlad's performance.

 

Beating a slow heavyweight with no skills makes you P4P ?

 

Trouble is Wach sucks.

 

Imo P4P is about (recent) resume and accomplishments. The whole "what if this wasn't this big..", or "if this guy welterweight was a cruiserweight" is bull****. (I don't even want to bother explaining why).
Thomas Hearns held pretty much 4-5 inches in height advance over most of his opponents, but that is never mentioned, physical traits shouldn't be held against a fighter.

 

Waldo would be a much better fighter if he was 6'2, fact. It hinders him really being over that height.

No, but showing an ability to dominate a bigger opponent after a long history of being criticized for only beating smaller opponents is a good way to make the point. My argument against Wlad being p4p was always that his success and style depended on his size, and that if he wasn't a heavyweight he would be ineffective because he wouldn't have a massive height, strength, and speed advantage.

So do most opponents of p4p fighters (see Sergio, Broner, Mayweather). What's your point?

That's not relevant because Hearns weighed the same despite being taller. Wlad has 20-30lb on many opponents, so it's nice to see him beat up a big guy with a chin.

Fury, Price, and Wilder next. Big guys, but don't quite have the chin. I think we see an early stoppage if Wlad decides to bust out that same style.

No. His size is all he has going for him.

 

It is still a genetic advantage that Wladimir has. And that should never be an argument against a fighter's greatness.
