I said it in different thread leading to the fight that it would do significantly less than 1 million PPV's and was ridiculed. Without the Marquez', Cotto's, and Mosley's of the boxing game, the names of the sport. Mayweather will not crack 1 million buys again unless its with Canelo, Pac, Martinez, or Ward. Thank God! This clown will actually have to fight someone with a real chance to win to crack 1 million buys again! :yep:bbb:bbb:bbb
Damn, I knew Guerrero was a **** opponent and Showtime isn't as big of a platform, but not being able to break the one million barrier is a massive disappointment by Floyd's standards. Especially when you consider Pacquiao reportedly doing 1.3 million when he tried out Showtime. Granted, his opponent was Shane Mosley, but still, it goes to show that HBO's reach can't be ****ed with and that people are becoming less tolerant with the shitty fights they're fed.
That was never reported. I think Arum just threw out that 1.3 number. Should be interesting to see how Showtime plays off these latest figures. Even if they aren't as bad as what the rumors are saying, I doubt they're that good.
So...this hasn't been sourced, as a matter of fact Showtime says there is no way to count, yet you claim to be "right" and make idiotic claims such as "PBF will not crack 1 million buys again unless..." then proceed to name every fighter in the sport except Kimbo Slice, **** outta here with this **** bro.
:deal So true - it's a very sad state of affairs when some weirdo is practically wetting himself with pleasure because some stranger he's never met is making $32m atsch
25 pages in and still no figures... :-( Even Floyd's haters are *****s, apparently; maybe the biggest we have.
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=6645782 Arum said Pacquiao-Mosley generated more than $75 million in television revenue with about 700,000 buys coming via cable systems and about 600,000 coming from satellite services. Pacquiao retained his title in the fight, which took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and generated a live gate of $8,882,600, the 14th-highest gross in Nevada history from 15,422 tickets sold. "We know we have a little over 1.3 million," Arum said. "What we don't have are some of the smaller cable systems. What I'm saying is I know we go to the bank counting a little over a 1.3 million. I know we'll go up from there. How much up, I have no experience in this. This was all done for us in the past by HBO, which had experience, charts and all kinds of data from past fights to compare the fight to. Showtime can't do it because they haven't done this in so long. They don't have the database that you need, but I'm feeling very, very happy because I know I've done This content is protected
