Lets just put it to you like this, When Floyd fought Corrales and Castillo both of those fighters were well known Corrales was known as a killer in there, Castillo had his own following....

which of those three bouts did Floyd sell 38k tickets?:think

Canelo facing an un heard of to casuals sold 38k tickets I dont even think you get 38,000 viewing fans even if you combine all three audiences from the Corrales fight and both castillo fights :hi:

This whole episode reinforces that people,in general, buy the fight/card not one person.

It would have benefited Canelo financially to be apart of the card as well.

38 k tickets, majority of them were sold for under 25$.

Canelo has an audience, but how many PPV cards has he headline?

Not long term, Canelo wanted a Floyd fight, I dont think he minds having his own card if he doesnt have that fight secured, had he fought on Floyds card Floyd would be the one to benefit not Saul.

You have numbers? I think they did better on their own which was the point of not being on the card. 38K in gate is huge even at lower prices.

Lets just assume every single ticket to Canelo vs Trout was 25 dollars including ringside which we know those were not 25 dollars.

thats a 950,000 dollar gate @25 for every single ticket ring side included

Years ago a whiskey maker lowered his prices hoping to drive sales and make more. The more he lowered his price the more his sales dropped. So, he started raising prices and his sales went up. Turns out people don't know much about whiskey and assume the more you pay the better the product. Evidently there seems to be some differences in marketing when it comes to whiskey and boxing. I think Floyd got delusional and was trying to be the first athlete paid $100 million for an event. That killed the Pac fight more than ANY other reason.

Your bringing up the past, I am bring up today where Canelo would have made more money fighting on Floyd's undercard.

He would have got paid more and more people would have saw him.

The gate means **** when your dealing with HBO, Showtime and PPV.

This circle jerk is amusing since Mayweather-Guerrero gate was more than triple that of Canelo-Trout and there still remains a chance that as many viewers paid $70 bucks to watch Mayweather that watched Canelo for free.

****, Broner does better ratings than Canelo. Why don't you guys praise him for being the new cash cow?

The real conclusion to draw here is that Canelo does not provide any benefit to Mayweather fighting on his undercard. In fact, Mayweather probably made more not having to shell out the big purse and instead paid Mares and PDL total 1/3 that of what Canelo would have been paid. You guys are useless.
