    According to Primerahora...

The fight between Cotto vs. Canelo is taking place unless Mayweather changes his mind. GBP and Canelo are waiting as much as they can for Mayweather.

If Mayweather decides not to fight Canelo, Canelo is moving forward at the MGM regardless of Mayweather. Canelo vs. Cotto coming soon?

Also, it mentioned that Miguel Cotto might be training under Freedie Roach for that fight. Thoughts on Cotto and Roach Team?

No word of Alex Ariza though... just Roach.

I had a strong feeling that Cotto-Canelo was/is being planned way before Canelo even beat Trout. Many may criticise it, but, now that he's eliminated Trout, I have no problems with Canelo choosing Cotto. It may be a mismatch -- seeing as though Cotto is past prime and in a weight class he doesn't belong in -- but it'll be one heck of a spectacle.

As for Cotto teaming up with Roach, wow, that I did not see. What were his reasons for parting ways with Diaz?

Probably something to do with a 1-2 record.

    Agree with everything you say.

There are a lot of good options out there besides Cotto. But I'm not mad at that fight, Cotto Is still a legend, and he might have one more great fight in him. I think Roach will be good, he can really bring back sine of Cottos offense that has been pretty weak lately...

If my favorite fighter wants to give it one last go at a huge fight, I will support him. But I'd rather see Cotto stick with Diaz than move to Roach.

Funny how the tables have turned. Not it's Canelo who can have a big day with or without Floyd, but not vice versa.

I will always love Miguel Cotto. Happy he will get this fight as it will for sure be a mega payday for both he and Canelo. Training under Roach now huh? That is very interesting. It is a duo I never even thought I would see. Hopefully that relationship bears fruit.

I'd like to see if Top Rank will go head to head with JMM-Bradley on September 14.

You have to wonder if they'll be able to compete with a Canelo-Cotto fight.

Cotto isn't retiring before he gets another payday vs Canelo, so I can see this happening next. Cotto is comfortable at 154 since he's decided to stay up there, but he'll probably get beat. Should be entertaining while it lasts though, I don't see Cotto bitching out in the fight.

Roach is bad for cotto. Miguel will need tight defense if he fights Canelo, however, Roach, who is in love with offense, will provide very little of it.
