How many times has he been involved in the fight of the year? what about Comeback of the year, how many titles has he won?

    Shut the **** up:hi:

  4. WBC light welterweight title
    IBF super featherweight title

And made many successful title defenses for both

Four time fight of the year

One of the best trilogies of all time, that every boxing analyst still brings up all of the time.

Always proved he belonged in the mix, may lose a fight but then came back to drop a top contender in a round or two was a common theme. When I say top contender I mean legitimate ranked in top ten, which he regularly beat in his career, FACT. 16 year long pro career with a lot of great up and down moments. How many fighters have four fight of the years? I think Carmen basilio is the only one to give him a run for his money, pretty good company.

He was a unique fighter no matter what. Tremendous heart and perseverance made up for lack of skills, but did he entertain and give the public their moneys worth. And he was involved in one of the greatest fights of all time. He deserves it, the question is what about Hamed and guys like that who were overlooked. But Gatti put his all into boxing and we all know it so I say accept it and enjoy what he earned.

  7. I guess your dumb post was answered. Anymore dumb questions you need answered?

  8. how come Dariuz Mchwaizki isn't in the Hall of Fame but Gatti is?

Well imo the hof is something that commemorates those who contributed and pushed forward boxing as a whole, whether it be career achievements, promotion, or overall crowd appeal

Your statement was not a question but had it been a question, it would have been a stupid one.

Well the boxing HOF is the weakest HOF of all sports. It;s better to look at the mythical ATG list to refer to the real great fighters of boxing.

With that said, Arturo Gatti was famous. He made the Boardwalk Hall his home and he was a household name for HBO. If you want to refer to a new coming boxing fan to the to 10 best fights, you'd be full of sh-t if you do not mention Gatti vs Ward.

In boxing, the Hall of Fame is very literal. Unlike other sports, where the HOF is actually filled with athletes that were great and put up great numbers, I think the boxing HOF has to do more with actual Fame rather than skills and numbers. And to deny Arturo Gatti was famous is blasphemy. He's not mainstream famous, but he's famous in a sense like "Want to see how exciting boxing is? Go download Arturo Gatti's career."

If I had to pick 10 fighters in history for a new comer who knows nothing about boxing, to pick to go watch and try to get him/her in to it, Arturo Gatti would be in that 10.

That is why the hell Arturo Gatti is in the Hall of Fame.

  13. You have been already told why, your a like a little kid that just keeps saying, WHY? Did Dariuz have four fight of the years? No okay. Did he have on of the greatest trilogies ever? No okay. Did he become a household name ? No okay, there is your answer. Did he do anything extraordinary? No again.

  14. You have no idea who he is right?

I didn't know unifying and dominating an entire division and getting 20+ straight title defenses= not extraordinary.

Dariuz was and always will be the much greater fighter.

Carmen was in the fight of the year 5 years in a row.

Nobody is doubting that Arturo was a good fighter; he was. What people are saying is that he wasn't top tier. He was above average contender level, but he was below great fighter level. He was very good. He was along the lines of a Glen Johnson. Better than a gate keeper, could give the best fighters a tough fight or two, but was ultimately going to lose the best in the division.
