In a boxing context, what does the term "bum" mean to you?

"Bum" is a term that is thrown around a lot on here and used in many different contexts.

In a general sense, it has been used to describe an obvious no-hoper, say, maybe a Tony Booth or a Dustin Nichols?

Or, maybe, someone with a winning record that is just not very good, say, maybe Tye Fields (49-5)?

What does "bum": mean to you and who are some examples?

Everyone is a bum in boxing. Unless you've just signed up to fight Floyd Mayweather. Then you suddenly become a world class, elite fighter.

Completely untalented guys who leave their dayjob (if they have one) to make some extra cash fighting boxers who they have no business being in the same ring with.
That's the real defintion of a "bum".

But it's fun to use it for mediocre boxers who are massively overrated and/or have to face a topcontender next in a fight they're definitely going to lose.
And also to tease fanboys who only are supporting a fighter because he's from their country/area. Like Britbum, Cubum, Eurobum etc :yep

Fighters who have no discernable skill, talent, or positive boxing-ralted attributes, or are horrifically out of shape.

    See: Chris Arreola

Not a fan of Amir Khan really and made it clear that he will always be a knockout waiting to happen.
