Funny that,given that he left his promoter because he knew the fight wasn't going to happen.
Now,the WBO have insisted he fights his mandatory,whilst Broner jumps two weights to fight a guy who never won a big fight.

He didn't take a late offer because he wanted a full camp(which is understandable,given that there was a fair chance he could lose)
No named fighter wanted that offer,hence the fight with Rees.If Burns had fought Rees before Broner,he would've been slaughtered.
We've been over this many times,and the whole point of going after Vasquez was to get more negotiating power for a Broner fight.
Burns has been a belt holder longer than Broner.He had every right not to jump in with a 7 week camp just because HBO were breaking Broner's balls to get an opponent.
That's why Broner fought Rees.

On what basis do you feel that he ducked him?
Because Broner said so? If not taking the hardest fight of your career without full preparation and sparring because Broner couldn't find an opponent to fill the date is your definition of ducking,then I see where you're coming from,but looking at it objectively and asking yourself "what would I do in that situation?" might result in you at least considering the alternative explanation.
Alas,with a heavy heart,I suspect that won't be the case.
