A lot of these were the right fights just at the wrong time. if the hatton fight would have been in place of the Mitchell fight it would have been huge. hatton was coming off the biggest win of is career against a top opponent. At the time hatton was widely considered the bigger man. I don't really mind the mitchell fight as the first fight at a new weight, but he should have finished business at 140 before moving up. By the time he fought him Ricky had some very poor showings at 147 and only his most loyal fans gave him a shot.

judah would have been a much bigger fight before the loss to baldomir he was the undisputed champ at 147 and on the top of many p4p lists. Cotto would have been much better before the losses to margo and manny although still not that big because people would have just said that he was overrated anyway.

oscar was the guy that everyone wanted to fight because of the money he brought to the table but he was far from his best. Truth is if Oscar hadn't represented the massive payday that he did, there is no way that floyd taks that risk.

The fights that outright should have have happened are marquez, ortiz and guerrero. Those fights were jokes. Fights that the fans demanded but didn't get at all margarito, martinez, paul williams.

I really don't see why people have problems with the mosley fight. Mosley was coming off the big win against margarito. Before the marquez fight it was the fight everyone wanted then they get it and act like it was no big deal. Sure Mosley was old, but given the age diffence there would have never been a time when this fight would have been perfect.

what the mediator did was to scold arum of revealing some of the details in the negotiation. what the mediator corrected arum on was arum's assertion that floyd negotiated in bad faith...in that when floyd never put up a counter, it meant that he never wanted the fight. mediator said that's just not enough of an evidence.
