maybe fox should promote there own fight nights the TV $$ surely has a bit of power and they determine who fights who bad luck if managers or fighters want to hand pick

If you want to fight on TV and get the exposure you will fight who we match you with

become the Dana white of Pro boxing and dictate to the fighters who their opponents are

    :good
    I agree.
To get a major TV date in the US, UK, Germany etc. you need to have made a couple top quality fights to gain the date from the TV company, whereas here in Australia FOX just give the promoter the date months in advance & 10k odd, then the promoter puts on whatever mismatch garbage he feels fit.

The promoter should at least propose 2-3 decent matchups to gain the date from FOX IMO, rather than just hand the date to a promoter months in advance & get last nights garbage.

Nothing new...I had a lengthy heated chat with Andy Raymond about this 12-18 months ago...great to see nothing has changed as I had expected.

Of course they should but does anyone actually see it happening?

Hence my dream on comment earlier.

I don;t think u can personally blame Andy.
We all know boxing promoting would be a **** of gig, Someone has to be held accountable I guess, but at the end of the day its the nature of the beast

It's been brought to my attention that this was not entirely true, Andy was more upset at the people blaming him for how the card turned out and not people who said it was a **** card.

Appolgies to Andy for mis interpreting him

It was an extremely difficult situation for all concerned. Cancelling the show, albeit @ short notice, was at one stage considered.

Yup! The very reason it went ahead, albeit everyone was well aware it'll most likely end in disaster.

If I was the promoter & given circumstance I was faced with, as much I'd totally dislike doing it, I would've asked Hooper, Horn & Fletcher to be touch reasonable with their opponents.

Mind ya, that might've been difficult with street fighter Hooper

crunch you make some good points but problem with getting a panel together is if a few of them get together and decide they dont like a promotor which happens all the time in boxing then they just wont allow him to match up fights. at the end of the day like it or lump it , the promotor pays the bills so its his card and he says who fights on it . that is why i think fox need to go back to the old days where they gave the promoter a bit of coin , at least this way they are able to have a bit of a say as they have money invested . until this happens the promotor will continue to match his boys up with easy beats , i mean he aint going to bring guys in to belt his boys and make them look like **** on tv
