Why do people make out like Floyd is a small WW? For one thing, I can't even remember the last time he stepped on an unofficial scale on the night of his fight. And aside from the ODH fight, he really hasn't looked much smaller then any of his opponents.
He was 150 against Ortiz and he was 148 for this fight at the 30 day weigh in. You can pretty much expect Mayweather to be around 150 on fight night. Anyway, it's ridiculous to claim Alvarz is too big for Mayweather. To be fair though, if Alvarez isn't too big, then it's hard to then turn around and claim guys like Garica or Khan or too small.

Mayweather doesn't outweigh Garcia or Khan on fight night by 20 pounds. If they fought, it would be possibly a 5 pound difference if anything at all. Especially with Khan breaking his neck to make 140. On the other hand, Canelo would outweigh Floyd by 20 pounds. And everyone knows Floyd is not his best at that weight in the first place. This content is protected A better fight, in my opinion, would be Canelo-Chavez or Canelo-Martinez.
Garcia and Floyd are the same size. Khan is a washed up fighter. Alvarez is too big but is Floyd too skilled ?
#1 - Floyd would never weigh 154 at the weigh in. More like 150. #2 - There's a difference in wanting a guy challenged and wanting him to move up just to lose. #3 - I agree that he should relinquish the belt at 154. It doesn't really mean anything anyway. #4 - Floyd is 36. He has more than earned his way to take whatever fights he wants. Floyd will fight who he feels like fighting. Get over it.
Alvarez is too big to be fighting guys the size of Floyd, but not necessarily Floyd himself. If Guerrero moved up to fight Canelo it'd be viewed as a mismatch. Not for Floyd though because Floyd's skills are on another planet.
Silliness. -Mayweather wouldn' t have a 20pd weight advantage over those guys. Or much of a weight or size advantage at all. -Mayweather doesn't rely on size, power, strength vs his opponents which would make a size difference irrelevant even though there wouldn't be much of one. -Mayweather relies on defense, timing, reflexes, boxing skill, boxing IQ, craftiness, angles, foot work, accuracy. The only reason why size matters vs Mayweather is because nobody is better then him in boxing within those categories named so the only thing a fighter can hope for is to have the size advantage. So say Khan and Garcia just aren't skilled enough but size has nothing to do with it.
