I want to hear from people experiencing it. It doesn't have to be just the Mayweather - Gurerro fight I just want to hear about the experience in watching a boxing match in a movie theater.
Its great, Iv been to several of the Mayweather fights in theaters and its a good way to watch the fight. The only other people who go for the most part are other serious fans who know boxing pretty well for the most part, and couples or families who like boxing. So although everyones rooting for their guy of course, its better then watching it with a bunch of idiots who DKSAB and will ***** and moan watching a defensive fighter like Mayweather etc. All and all its great, it gets loud and exciting and people show up for the undercard fights too. Make sure to get there earlier though! I got outta work late for May vs. Guerrero and didnt get to the theater till after the Love-Rosado fight was ending and had to sit in the very front. My neck was sorer then a hooker with a mortgage due.
Never been, but never heard a bad word about it. Everyone always said they had a great time. Was listening to one of the radio shows last night(Tha Boxing Voice, iirc) and the host said he went to pbf-guerrero, and it was packed.
It was 15 bucks where im at which is pretty much the same everywhere, but they show all the undercards and its a cool event. Def worth it guys just take my word for it, go watch Mayweathers next fight in September in theaters especially if its against Canelo, you wont regret it.
Thats crazy...where was this? I went to Mayweather - Ortiz and that was the emptiest one Iv ever been to and it was still 4/5th full. Since then they have been nearly sold out in my town.
In my area(ATL), about 4 theatres carried it. 2 were dinner theatres which charged $18. The other one that I checked cost $15. Probably depends on the area though. I'm sure higher cost cities have a little higher prices. Think I read of some areas where it was as high as about $25.
i been twice. its the best place to wactch it aside from actually being there. the boxers look huge, super hero like and the people make it a live environment
watched a few of the pacquiao fights in the theaters when I was in the Philippines...the atmosphere in there is ELECTRIC!
I went twice. Cotto was sold out and the Guerrero fight was 85-90% full. I payed 15 bucks for my ticket, but I know they can be as expensive as 26 in some places
Basically Floyd wanted to have a more intimate relationship with his *****sexual fan base, so he came up with the movie ticket idea as sort of a way to set up a bath house for them to meet and jerk each other while they watch their hero as far as the experience I am pretty sure you can ask Rudyard, Pimp C, Bballchump, PBfred, and Prince N those are your sources for the experience....
It's a great alternative to regular ppv, especially if you're on your own or only a 2-3 people are thowing down bones for it. I saw Guerrero v Mayweather in a Kc theater. Probaly about 80-90 people there, 90% Mayweather fans, cheering after every round of domination and gasping at the appropriate times when clean punches were landing.... I wonder if the theater concept is building up again. Ive been to at least 3 of em, and there were waaay fewer people at the Marquez fight.
I went for the Mayweather/Guerrero fight and enjoyed it. I didn't want to pay $60 for this fight, but felt $18 for the movie ticket was more than fair; I would have paid that for just the first three fights. The theater was about half full. I got there in time for the first bout and had my pick of the seats. The collective "ooh" and "aah" of the crowd as big shots were landed was cool. The crowd, overall, was pretty typical OC chill. Simply put, for a good fight I'll shell out at home. But, for something mediocre like this it is great to have a cheaper option right down the street.
