I like the personality of Mike Tyson these days.

I do have to admit that at the Lewis press conference I still laugh at Tyson telling that reporter I will "**** you till you love me, ******" :shock:

 

mine is the 1995-1997 Mike...he earned 35 million for a two minute fight vs Sheldon and was broke soon.

 

For me, my favorite version of Tyson was the early Don King years, from 1988-1991. This was a time when Tyson reinvented himself as a fighter.

Although Tyson repeatedly denied it, I noticed that Tyson used his peek-a-boo defense a lot less often after the Tyrell Biggs fight (in October 1987), and that he became more of a power fighter, looking for that one punch KO starting with the Larry Holmes fight (in January 1988).

Although this version of Tyson lost to Douglas, I still believe that the Tyson of 1988-1991 was just as good as the Tyson of 1985-1987. The two Ruddock fights is proof that Tyson had not completely abandoned his peek-a-boo defense before going to prison.

In my opinion, Tyson completely abandoned the peek-a-boo defense, and became a brawler, after prison. The Tyson of 1988-1991 was not a brawler, but rather, a power fighter with precision!

1) By a MILE! That's one of the greatest Heavy's of all time.

 

Mike Tyson has gone on record and stated that he felt his best ever against Alex Stewart. I like the Mike Tyson 1990 - whenever he went into jail, inside the ring and outside of the ring.

Also: Boxing wise, Mike Tyson was in immense shape for the Holyfield rematch both physically and technically.

That fight would of been one of the greatest fights in history if he would not of snapped.

Just look at the intensity, speed, and intentions of both guys. They where fighting like 215-220 pound middle weights.

Immense.
