Why is July & June a not a good time for a show in Belfast

    Sadly, there seems to be regular reports of bombs, nothing going off, but being left in dangerous places or thrown at police and a prison officer was murdered last year and a Catholic policeman was killed a couple of years ago by a bomb planted underneath his car.

    these people are pathetic. both sides as bad as each other. Completely understand peoples resistance towards religion and Christianity with this BS going on.

    Sad because I have a nephew living there. Hope he never gets caught up in it. My Brother always told me its not bad anymore but that's the kind of thing he would say and we dont talk much.

    Wonder how many of these people are actually religious. I can understand that they have different views, but violence isn't the way forward.

    I am sure theres a large number of people on these marches and that are part of it all who do not attend event church, and then there are those who have drastically missed the point. The overriding message of Christianity, Islam and all the major religions is love & peace. But unfortunately religion has been used as way to manipulate people for centuries.

    Even the fiercest critics of religions will recognise that Jesus & Mohammed wouldn't approve of this kind of stuff!

    Like you say, far too many people misinterpret religion, the one that always got me was the taliban banning boxing in Afghanistan, because Islam said it was wrong to hit a man in the face, yet it was alright to behead people on the internet.

    response to OP.

    Sole reason is the 12th and days before and after.

    Wise and sensible. Even if it is calmer up north there is always potential in and around marching season
