TBA to Mares is a big step.

I'd rather he not go back to 122 though, he looked explosive and very comfortable as a featherweight. Already picked up good scalps at 118 and 122. May need to wait on both LSC and GR Jr.

In this situation people got to understand that the onus isn't on mares to drop back down to 122 after the statement he made against ponce, but still he's willing to do it, you can only respect the guy. Theres huge fights, bigger paydays at featherweight against likes of salido in mexico but to he wants the recognition of being the best over the dollars.

Plus this is slightly different to the mares - donaire situation where donaire was a draw which rigo isn't, donaire makes top rank money wheras rigo doesn't. If an offer is placed it could get made because there isn't much top rank can do with rigo other than expose their own fighters. Plus rigo is only co promoted by top rank so he has more of a say than donaire who had to do whatever top rank said.

Rigo doesn't want 126 either :deal

Which makes me happy, now everyone can STFU about Rigondeaux being better than Whitaker and Floyd...they jump weight like noone's business :deal

I respect the Cuban Posters who have followed him since Day 1 and will be there even if he were to get KTFO. ESB bandwagons roll full steam ahead though, and all of these "More skilled than Floyd and Pea", "Rigo's Untouchable" Bull. ****. Threads are their doing.

Rigo's more skilled, Mares is more G. :yep

I'm becoming a fan of Mares! This ****er willing to take on any one! Like Mares mentioned, its too bad TR controls most of 126lbs. Not too many fights there for Mares. I hope LSC and Mares get it on but I would prefer for LSC to move up. LSC looks like he can fill 126 too just like Mares. LSC vs Moreno ar 122 then jump to 126 to face Mares!

I still don't understand how guys like Mares, Froch and Rigodeaux aren't on the P4P list. ****ing Broner has done nothing to deserve that high of a spot. ****ing Guerrero beat a guy coming off a loss who was nothing other than a Haymond/HBO hypejob, gets a shot at Floyd and gets to be on the P4P list. Rigo beats and ridiculous Nonito mother****ing Donaire, a P4P kingpin for sometime, and gets nothing!

Mares is a G straight up.. hope he fights Russel Jr... if not Mikey Garcia.. or Donaire...... love all those matchups man!!!

I got Mares ranked number 7 or 8 p4p right now.. he's def top ten and he and Froch are great for boxing right now!! both take on anyone.......

also believe it or not I think Broner is great for boxing as well.. but I'll save that for another thread

Can't hate on Mares. If he does this, there's no doubt as to who the king is in the lower weights should he beat Rigo. I'm afraid though it will be a wrestling match. No way Mares fights clean against Rigo.

And to be good you need to move up in weight? You are an Idiot, Rigondeaux is 32 years old and has grown to the limit of his body, he started boxing at 105, be a fan instead of a fanboy, he is more suitable for the 118 division as a matter of fact...

I can guarantee you he won't fight Rigo at 122.
Another GBP smokescreen to save him from a Top Rank fighter like that mythical 3 million dollar deal for Donaire.

Want to know how I know?
Easy if GBP actually offered it Rigo would sign and Bob would let him because he hates him.

What's Santa Cruz best win? 100 yrs old morel ? 80 yrs old Munoz ?
Lets get real here, he's good but nothing but a light version of Mares so far.
