Does anyone still think Burns beats Broner after tonight?

Given Burns height at the weight I imagine tonight is probably the first time he has fought someone with a longer reach. He struggled getting into range in the first 6 and I felt he was panicking and becoming ragged as a result. Not saying he would beat broner but I don't think he would have the same issues as tonight.

Broner is over-confident and a totally different fighter to Gonzalez. Burns will look better against Broner and take him all the way.

Broner has a completely different style to Gonzalez?

Listen, anyone who writes Ricky Burns off after that is a fool. Ok, say Broner is a level above him.. fair point. But on the flip side, Burns is a world class operator himself.

Fighters, especially world champions, all go through fights like Burns had tonight. Going into this fight, people who had clearly never seen anything of Gonzalez were calling him a "crude banger" etc. Gonzalez was the exact opposite. He was awkward and rangey.

His record - 17 stoppages - suggested he could bang, but when Ricky was caught with big shots he bit down on the gum shield and kept coming. Fair play to him, he showed balls and a chin tonight after coming off a lay off, change of promoter etc etc.

Decent fight and a good win for Burns.

Gonzalez though - it's a world title fight, as a boxer you work day in day out in order to reach that level. You finally get the opportunity, why couldn't he fight the last 2/3 rounds with 1 arm? If he lost or got stopped then ok, but he could have glued his injured hand to his chin and went from there.

Might have showed a lot of talent tonight, but not the heart to go with it.

Broner doesn't have the ability to execute a fight strategy like Gonzalez does, so I'd give Burns a better shot against him that against Gonzalez. Broner can be outboxed by lesser boxers. Still, I'd favor Broner.

Broner's style is nothing like Gonzalez and Broner hasn't beaten anyone better than Gonzalez and i include DiMarco in that

I still think Burns gives Broner at worst the toughest fight he has had to date

Broner and it wouldn't be close.

At worse; Burns is Witter, Broner is Judah. At best; Burns is Froch, Broner is Ward.

    Different levels.

That 7th round tonight was scary never prayed for a bell so much in my life but what heart and a chin Ricky has to pull through that and he was doing better in round 8 and 9 and i think Gonzalez burned himself out with that flurry in the 7th you could see him visibly slowing down as the 8th and 9th wore on still Ricky got out of jail tonight and hopefully he can put in a better performance next time out but got the W that's the main thing.
