The fight SHOULD be at 154, but a rehydration clause should be added as well

I agree that Floyd, being the Super Junior Middleweight Champion should fight at 154. But there needs to be a rehydration clause added into the contract

No one wants to see a 149-150 pound man fight a 175 pound man. It's ridiculous and beyond unnecessary.

Canelo is demanding the fight, so he must concede something.

    Rehydration Clause

Every pound above 164 OR 165 pounds will incur a penalty of 1-1.5m/lb.

    Hell no to rehydration clauses.

Catch weights have historically precedence. You don't want to be the guy known for the rehydration clause, even if it has been done before. 154, or wait another year and look for the fight then, no rehydration BS and hopefully no catch weight either.

Or Floyd can drop the 154 title and fight at his most comfortable weight class. 147.

I don't want to see Floyd lose to someone who weighs 25 pounds over him.

Unfair stipulations like this makes boxing illegitimate.

Or Floyd can stay at his most comfortable weight class and fight there.

    Fight Garcia, Khan, etc.

    Those are some juicy bouts.

No doubt, but he should relinquish the belt to Alvarez & hand it over personally. :D

Don't know if Canelo will want to blow up all the way to 172 against Floyd anyway like he did with the bigger Trout. He came to the ring at 165 against Lopez.

Of course not. A simple relinquishing of the title.

I never get why fans talk about the belts so much, espically in cases like this or when it comes to Floyd. He's bigger than the belt. He dont care about the belt. People arguing about the belt either way need to talk about something else.

He doesnt care about getting stripped or not because the fact is if he wants to fight for a belt then he can fight for a belt because no one is going to turn down that pay day.

He wont care at all if they strip him. He can just fight at WW and then when he wants to go back to 154, every single champ will be willing to put there belt up. Thats the last thing I care to talk about

Showtime cannot afford this, for real. Of course they very much asked for it, turning over control to GBP completely, but it'd suck all around to have them greatly reduced. Maybe the rest of the GBP roster should take substantial paycuts to cover for Floyd's guarantee. Mares is already doing his part, 375k
