When Calzaghe fought (shot) Jones he was sticking his face in Roy's and he could do nothing because Joe had already taken all of Roy's best shot away, by getting out of the way basically. Shot or not, no one could do that normally. When Geale fights his punches are many and fast (not 100% effective) but it is glaring to the judges that the opponents hardest shots are above his head, or hard 1-2 combo's when he is simply gone. Geale quickly resumes with a repeat. He has been matched well so far, goes down a little easy at times but as long as he doesn't suffer a one-punch type (GGG) KO he has got heaps to match all of the elites.
Geale's style seemed to look a tad better when he boxed from the outside, his punches had more effect when he hit guys just before the ful reach of the punch, hence knock outs. Now he seems to throw as many as he can to rack up points with work rate and not worry about power, does look a bit sloppy with this style at times...his defence is pretty ****ing good though with movement.
Geale is playing the percentages and the busy-in-close style he is employing has bought him great success of late, including the two world titles he won.
I know but seeing in some of his earlier fights he can throw straight and hard fast combos, he has just got a little slap happy since going to Germany, it works for him and i support him big time.
But wouldnt work on GGG and would more than likely hve GGG walking straight through him and knocking him out, hence Geale handing his belt to GGG Rather than face the music. :good
So you keep saying Geale is our best P4P fighter by a long way using the style he's using. It's winning him world titles, and he's doing very nicely for himself and his family in the process :good Most Australian fight fans are getting a lot of enjoyment out of what Daniel Geale is achieving. It's a pity you seem so hell bent on trying to detract from hit.
Don't worry about TC, Spider. He's just upset with Geale because he destroyed any chance of him receiving more free limo rides to Mundine fights. He'll come around though. :yep
There is too many guys at middleweight who can match him boxing from the outside, who are bigger too. He would find himself getting hit too much. He's middle aged in athletic terms so this style is probably preserving himself also.
AUS isnt big on boxing, we dont generally have a huge pool of boxers so its not really a big feat to be P4P fighter in AUS, but moving on... He won two WTs from opponents yes, and i picked him to win both fights in which he won the titles, many others didnt think he had a chance. Ive been a fan of Geales since his amateur days, he was at one stage our best chance for winning gold for the first time at the olympics but he got fcked over by the ABA. Fact is he could very well be on his way so cementing his legacy in boxing by becoming undisputed champ, however he fcked any chances he had of doing that by giving one of the belts he worked so hard to earn, away to GGG and has made no attempt in regaining that title. His style as explained by Green is not really something that will sell in AUS, its only popular in europe and he does not really have much of a future fighting in europe. His best bet was to hang onto the title he gave away to GGG and fight him prior to making a fight with Mundine, his future earnings would have been much more secrure in doing so but he opted for a payday and in the end sacraficed his chances at becoming undisputed champ in doing so, something that would have earned him way more recognition in AUS than defeating Mundine would. @Kas, you cant be serious, i purchased a ring side seat worth a bit of money and was asked if i wanted a limo ride to the fight. Its no big deal but carry on
Daniel Geale is the brightest light in Aussie boxing at present and most of us are getting a great deal of enjoyment out of his success. You continue to unrate him, even to the extent of predicting Mundine would knock him out. How wrong you were and will continue to be. Keep proving the doubters wrong Daniel Geale :good
Great deal of enjoyment? .. barely anyone from AUS watched him fight in Germany and the only enjoyment he has provided so far since winning the titles is a fight against a shot Mundine lol.. Everyone knows i picked Mundine because i was having a stir with sox. Im not wrong in any of my analogy above and this is clearly why you dont debate or raise a single point ive made. Who is this brightest light in AUS fighting next? lol oh thats right you dont know lol
It's fun watching you try in vain to pull down our best P4P fighter and one of the best Australian born fighters to ever pull a glove on It's just a pity for your sake you can't enjoy the success he is having like just about everyone else here is. Equally good news is I just heard avatars should soon be returned to ESB. As soon as they sort out the current problem they are experiencing anyway.
If you say so. I think Geale is one of our best as I posted above >>> I've still got Fenech ahead of him. But you are entitled to put Geale ahead if you see it that way :good
