    Mayweather Double Standard:

"I want Cotto Comfortable" vs. "I want Canelo @ 147"
Or if it takes at 154, putting a re-hydration clause.

    :patsch

Alright, Mayweather fans... let me have it... :bbb

It's just crazy to me, that Mayweather is considered by some as the greatest ever but he hasn't fought the greatest threats at 140, 147 nor now 154.

Mayweather has way too many misses for it to all be coincidence but he can make up for all of those past misses by fighting Canelo. Mayweather can defeat Canelo without all of these added clauses. He just needs to man up and do it.

    The Misses & Excuses:

Paul Williams = Not popular enough.... but Guerrero was?
Margarito = Not popular enough.... but Baldomir was?
Pacman = Mayweather put so many excuses up, it would take the whole thread.
Prime 147 Cotto = *Crickets* He fought him at 154 but that was a past prime Cotto and looked how easily Cotto landed on him. Yes Mayweather won...
    Kostazu ?

There are many more missed opportunities by Mayweather and it's not because he isn't a good fighter either; he can do it, but he won't.

1st off we dont know if any of that stuff from Canelo's team is true and even if true, we still dont know if its not just a negotation strategy.

For your arguments sake though, lets say that its all true. I dont understand how people can act like its something fishy. They always bring up he fought Oscar & Cotto there. Now you are also adding on what Floyd said "pre fight"

The Oscar & Cotto fights were 5 years apart to the date. 5 years. Most of the same people ripping him for this are the same people who say that Floyd's 2 worst fights in the last decade are the Oscar & Cotto fights.

I could see if one of 2 things happened. I could see if Floyd looked great in thsoe fights or just against Cotto. I could see if he totally dominated, stopped Cotto, etc.. and then says he doesnt want Canelo at 154. That didnt happen.

I could also see if Floyd fought like 5 fights there and now wont fight Canelo. That didnt happen. I could see if he's saying NO to Canelo but yes to someone else at 154. That didnt happen.

Sure he said what you said he said about Cotto but what did he say after the fight? He talked about how tough Cotto was and how much punishment he took. So much so that he called his dad to come back in to train him. He's talked non stop about it. Whats wrong with him fighting Oscar for the money, realizing he was too small, and then going back to WW?

Now 5 years later he gives it aother shot, realizes there is a limit where he has to stop, and again goes back to WW? Again, you guys are acing like he Gatti'd Cotto or that he's fighting a ton of other guys but not Canelo. Its not the case

    Group 1.
    Matthysse
    Canelo
    Peterson.
    Garcia
    Broner

    group 2.
    Devon A.

I saw him & Broner together before teh fight. Trust me, they will not fight eachother unless they have a 50 cent type breakup. We already know about Canelo. There is no way in hell though you will convince me that he would hesitate to fight those other 3. I think his only hesitation would be from him thinking people wouldnt give him a ton of credit for it. Most now diss those fights.

If those guys fight anyone else at 140-147 its a great fight but he's not allowed to fight them. He's penalyzed for being too good. I honestly think his next fight is either Garcia or the Lucas-LP winner and watch how everyone roast him (thats if its not Canelo). I think Canelo makes more sense for May

People still mention Spadafora as a serious contender to anyone ranked in the top 15 let alone the lineal champ really need to get their heads checked!!

Floyd may cherry pick but get real.

The rehydration clause, if it were to happen would just be completely over looked.

the fight isent signed yet... i honestly think he is making a big deal over weight so he can finally give in and use it to get more of the purse with the leveridge .

HOWEVER : if he forces canelo at 147 then he is a cherry picker big time.. and this is coming from a big floyd fan

all the other opponents hes apparently ducked its all bull****... but this?... well if his serious about 147 he is a cherry picker

im a big mayweather fan but asking canelo to come down to 147 is just ****ing stupid I wouldnt mind a catchweight for this one personally something like 150 makes it fair but that aint happening so this fights dead already if what canelo's team is saying is true,Floyd dont back down at the table

I remember Floyd saying in the past that he would fight Canelo at 150 catchweight.

And now draining Canelo down to 147 is ridiculous.

i find it very convenient when floyd gets criticized for not fighting a guy who walks in at 172 but i don't hear any canelo band wagoners calling for a fight with andre ward - a guy who walked in less than 10 lbs heavier against dawson than canelo, come fight night

now if that seems unreasonable to some people, since ward is a SMW (even though canelo will move naturally to MW soon enough), then maybe you now have a good reason why floyd fighting a big man like canelo is a step too far imo
