Why are Wlads bouts a clinch fest all the time? Because even the weakest of oppoents have managed to step inside on him. People like to think he's the heavyweight sweet pea. Its not true. Not true in the slightest.

Past it Holyfield with heart and shoulder problems was able to muscle Lewis around and never came close to being dropped in two full fights. At his best against prime Bowe he got ****ed up on the inside and couldn't back him up.

Whats Wlad going to do when Bowe closes the gap? He cant get shots off, cant defend himself, has no upper body movement, has no power inside, has no latteral movement , has a zero inside game and when the shots come he doesn't have the punch resistance to hold up. He will be renderd completely useless.

Wlad hasnt faced a fighter even close to the ability that Bowe had.

How can you compare Tubbs to Wlad and he didnt have problems with either of those fighters you mentioned. Tubbs was one of his main sparring partners and in my opinion the fight was easy for Bowe. Bowe killed Coetzer. If Bowe couldnt hit so hard he sure did a number on most of his opponents, including Golota who he twice made quit even when he was depleted and getting his butt kicked.

You have to aprreciate what a special all round fighter, prime Bowe was. He had THE unquestioned best trainer of them all in Eddie Futch. He had a ton of heart, sharp jab and moved his hands excellent in combination. But here`s waht sperates the men form the boys, bowe was an incredibly skilled in-fighter. He would tear guys up inside, so he would use that sharp jab to work his wy inside on Vlad. He had more than enough power to hurt Vlad. And inside, he wouldn`t allow Vlad to `milk it` inside, clinch and kill the clock. Also Vlad is a `push` jabber, meaning I don`t think he snaps it like Bowe,Homes Liston etc. Bowe would sysetmatically punish him into a late rd stoppage. Guys, this is the Vlad who was stopped by Sanders and Brewster... Bowe too much all around skill, better corner, much more heart, better chin and can dig down to the well to win a war...

Mag, I don`t think that Bowe of the Golota fight was `that` Bowe anymore ...

Good call, Bowe was great at parrying and slipping and the way Vlad telegraphs his shots... Look for Bowe to parry that slow jab and dump that overhand right to Vlad`s VERY shaky chin...

Great post, completely agree. Bowe was a special fighter. I ran into Big Daddy two weeks ago in Vegas. He looked trim and fit and seems to be in the gym working out for some reason? I didnt even want to ask him if he was making a comeback, but hes been making a lot of noise about it. Great guy though and a very under appreciated fighter. Bowe became more of a complete fighter than Lewis or the Klitschkos ever did.

No it's not. That is not the version of Wladimir Klitschko who became a much improved fighter years later.

Salty Trunks, you don't know what you're talking about. I trained at the same gym as Bowe for 2 years in Brockton, Mass back in 2008. The guy is brain dead and delusional. Wlad is so much smarter than Bowe as a fighter, he would have always capitalized on Bowe's leaky defense.

Yet according to you, the Wlad of the sanders and brewster fight was 'the prime version' of wladimir klitschko?

It's quite clear to anyone with a brain that Wladimir Klitschko of the past 6 years is a far better, more improved fighter compared to 2003.

Samer guy same chin. Polished up a bit, yes. but enough to compete with Bowe Holy and prime Lewis ?/ I think not... And before you use your signature insults, there are more people on here that see it Bowe`s way... or are we ALL idiots ???

Peter had him on the deck twice !! Vlad has benefited from the fact that the divsion is horridly weak... Push jab, BAD chin, slow hands, clumsy footwork. Yep , he`s got amazing skills...
