Both are champions at 154lbs, the fight should be held there where it has most lustre.

It makes no sense to have that fight at 147lbs, none.

Floyd is old too don't forget he was a pro before Cotto was even an olympian.

That said, we can only speculate his reasoning so we'll have to wait on what is behind Mayweather's actions.

Asking for the fight to be at 147 is ridiculous.

They will not fight, and it's definitely fair enough. PBF shouldn't fight at 154 if he isn't comfortable at the weight.

Anyone mentioning a catchweight should have acid thrown in their faces then kerb-stomped.

Although WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather recently stated that he had been stripped of his WBA super welterweight “super” title, that appears to not be the case. Mayweather is still listed as super champion in the new WBA ratings released today.

Meanwhile, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was named WBA boxer of the month, but did not receive the “super champion” status the WBA created especially for champions who hold the title of two or more organizations recognized by the WBA. Guillermo Rigondeaux, who unified the WBA and WBO titles against Nonito Donaire, also did not receive super champion status. Both are listed as “unified” champions along with WBA/WBO flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada.

WBA super champions include Wladimir Klitschko, Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather, Danny Garcia, Chris John, Anselmo Moreno and Roman Gonzalez. Of that group only Klitschko and Garcia currently hold belts from multiple organizations.

Now according to the article any fighter that hold multiple straps from various organizations.

Alverez holds both the WBC and WBA so how is floyd a super champion, when does not hold any belts at 154 ?

A lot of may fans are Jmping off ship, he is trying to do what he was shitting on PACQUIAO for doing... A serious cowardice move in long history of cowardice moves, not a good look for P4P 1 holding a 154 strap, stating in the past he fight opponents at their best weight, he aint like PACQUIAO!

    A REAL ***** MOVE.

Ray Charles doesn't even have to see this ****, he can smell this ***** a mile away.

either 154 or no fight at all. If Floyd thinks he's too small and old to fight at 154, then vacate the belt and don't hold it hostage

He is a champion at 154lbs.

Why are there negotiations to fight Canelo if he does not desire to fight at 154lbs?
I have no problem with Floyd staying at 147lbs, but then fight 147lbs fighters... simple as that.

Any fighter in the past or present has a chance to beat Floyd. We have to stop forcing the idea that he is not beatable and Canelo is the only real threat left. Floyd hasn't been the only fighter in boxing that has gone through this unbeatable image. A lot of greats have lost and will lose to an opponent eventually.
