Duran and Leonard made ridiculous comments. Like the fab 4 again is untouchable.

Hagler slipped, but he was still considered the best fighter on the planet - save for maybe a booming Mike Tyson - and the undisputed MW Champ. It was also Ray's first professional fight in years and first at 160. The ring size and number of rounds were the same as when Hagler fought Hearns and Mugabi. Nobody favored him to win that fight, do you understand?

Ray's win over Hagler is better than anything on Floyd's record, and I don't even think its his best win. Some days, maybe even his third considering Hearns and Benitez were both young champions and undefeated with ridiculous attributes and skills.

Because they fought all the best fighters around idiot they didn't duck and cherry pick, Floys hasn't foughy one guy that even compares to Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran not even Floyd is near where they are. If he fought the same guys they did he wouldn't be undefeated. If they fought the same guys Floyd has they would be undefeated.

It was a very good win but it wasn't this godlike elite win that everyone makes it out to be.

    I've never said Floyd's resume > Leonard's

Leonard definitely has the better wins.

But he isn't this saint that fights everyone in their primes

    He waited till Hagler slipped.

Yeah, he's actually one of the most hated-on fighters on ESB if you venture out of the general. There's a myriad of excuses for every win.

How come you never go after Hagler? How many wins against champions and top contenders does he have above his peak division to be rated so much higher than Mayweather on people's P4P lists? Taken the distance by fatboy MW incarnation Duran? Lost title to a one eyed coked out welterweight with one fight in the last five years???

Hagler fought them all. Everyone he had to. The only fight I would have liked to see Hagler fight is Spinks. He wanted everyone else to move up and fight him, why didn't he move up and take the same challenge?

My only guess is that between 160 and 175, the gap between light heavyweight at that time is too big, and Hagler was an out of the womb middleweight. See where he started and ended his career.

I'm pretty sure he would've made an attempt to win something at 168 had it existed when he was around.

but he pretty much acted like the guys like Duran,Hearns and Leonard could move up and fight him without trouble at all, so I thought that would have made it a natural for him to move up and fight Spinks. And Marvin had a 75 inch reach and southpaw.

    This is juts IMO.

He's left with nowhere to go, he doesn't belong at 175.

And he's got no starts left in the field to get him paydays except the start below that needs to move up.

In hindsight, with the success they had at 160, I don't think Hagler fighting them is too bad.

I think Hagler did everything he was supposed to do, I have nothing against Hagler as a fighter. I just think he's overrated as ****, on this board people want to give him GOAT middleweight status, and that's just not right. SRL had a lot more going against him in terms of inactivity etc than Hagler did. SRL was just that much better a fighter.
