Lamont Peterson is going to flatten Matthyse!!

I agree but I don't think it's quite that simple. Peterson has decent boxing skills and uses his size well on the inside. So his priority should be to mix boxing with pushing Mathysse back with his size and restarting. But ultimately I agree that he won't be able to do either well enough.

Like one of the commentators said during the Ajose fight, "To beat Mathysse, you either have to be a master boxer, or be able to hurt him." I don't think Peterson is either.

 

I think Peterson has a chance of course, but I just don't see that he has the requisite skill set to really offset Mathyesse and win. Could be wrong.

 

Lamont did look good in his last fight and if he wins he did beat a legit fighter but i dont think his chin holds up, Ortiz kept hurting him late but Ortiz never goes to the body, Matthysse will hurt him then when Peterson tries to clinch Matthysse will be smacking him to the body
Dont see anyway Peterson survives

 

peterson got gifts against ortiz and khan... and now that he flatened an old holt he suddenly becomes a beast. Matthysse will eat the brother up - with or without power pellets

 

I'm definitely not sleeping on Lamont.....he's a complete fighter for sure. He's at a disadvantage in the power department but he's a more diversified technician.

The problem for Lamont is will be his bravado. He likes to come forward and bang. He can hold his own but he may want to tread lightly going toe to toe with Lucas.

I can see Lamont winning the fight on points then getting slept late in the fight after Lucas draws him into a brawl. I think Peterson is one of the more exciting boxers in the game while also one of the most capable. He's hit some road blocks that I hope are behind him.

Matthssye is another big road block.

 

Matthysse just said in a interview he's looking for the knockout early in this fight

One guy thinks Peterson is a technician another a brawler another still a pressure fighter.

Hes decent but not great in any one area. Mathysse struggles with movers and guys he has out manouver more than someone who will come to him like Peterson will and then it comes who is stronger - better technically- fitter - better at taking punishment and dealing it out. I think they are pretty even in the first 3. Neither is a really silky fighter but in terms of power and punch resistance i think Mathysse is better and for that reason i think he might stop Peterson late.

Lets face it untill the Khan fight where he was drugged up peterson was solid but nothing special a gatekeeper almost just stepping a level above that to draw with Ortiz who is this generations Zab. Great one minute awful the next and mentally all over the show.

Peterson has been put down by Khan more than once and Bradley neither a big puncher. Mathysse is. Mathysse by KO round 9 or there abouts.
This is a big oppertunity for Lucas to come out and say im the man.... Hes come close to beating a faded zab and alexander who had styles to give him trouble.
