The fight wasn't a SD though. Name 7 rounds Oscar won? There is no way a case can be made that Oscar won. I also don't understand how people can just ignore that Floyd isn't a 154 fighter. He had two legit welterweight fights then he moved up to face Oscar and still beat him. Oscar didn't fight Floyd at his best either. Oscar doesn't have a great right hand at all. I just don't believe that a fighter who could get thoroughly out boxed in the second half of the fight by Mosley will beat Floyd. Floyd throws enough punches because he usually lowers his opponents output. Floyd by split or UD.
thought the fight was a close UD for Oscar. for mexicans and those who loves brawl, they thought oscar won for floyd fans and those who loves boxing, they thought floyd won.
Floyd himself was out of his prime in the Oscar fight. A prime Floyd would have easily knocked out Oscar that night.
well look at it this way, floyd was the much smaller man. Although delahoya was past his best he was still a "good big man" and floyd dominated him. Now if they were the same size at 130-135-140 hell even 147, floyd would definitely dominate the best of oscar at all of those weights
Oscar De La Hoya struggled badly with boxers. No WAY he beats a prime, fleet-footed Floyd. He could barely beat an old Whitaker. He struggled with Oba Carr and Shane Mosley outboxed him at 147 too.

It's possible, although I'd favour Mayweather. I wouldn't be surprised if prime DLH pulled it off though. I also think his performance against Mayweather was underrated. People always mention how he was missing a lot, which is true, but he also landed some solid punches, and he ended up taking rounds on workrate due to Mayweather's low punch output. He also did a surprisingly good job of parrying Mayweather's attacks -- in fact, he probably did the best job of blocking Mayweather's punches out of any other fighter I've seen. He fell apart in the last three rounds, if I remember right, but the rest of the fight was competitive.
