I agree with you on this one. If the two fight, Santa Cruz would totally dominate, and win by late stoppage. However, do not tell Irish boxing fans about this. They will go on and on about how Frampton is the 2nd best fighter in the 122 division, how many shows Frampton has headlined, how Santa Cruz is boring, etc.
At this stage I'd have to agree, Frampton has a load of talent and I think he will continue to improve and in 18 months time it would be a hell of a fight. Neither will beat Rigondeaux though
Im not so sure Santa Cruz would stop Frampton. He would UD him IMO but Frampton is a tough and durable kid. There are some great possible fights at 122 right now.
I disagree with this statement. I think Santa Cruz would beat Rigondeaux, if the two fight. People need to understand that Santa Cruz is nothing like Donaire. Santa Cruz's fighting style, as a very smart, high-volume puncher, is the blueprint to beat Rigondeaux.
sgarcia in picking a Mexican to win shocker! This is a turn up for the books! You never cease to surprise hombre!
Yeah and here was me thinking Donaire and Santa Cruz where the exact same style of fighter too  Santa Cruz is a good fighter, but his defense is to open and I've no doubt Rigondeaux would slow his workrate down after Santa Cruz felt Rigondeaux power. You can't just walk forward at Rigondeaux you need to mix things up or he will time and punish you Mares is the fighter with the best chance of beating Rigondeaux, he has the variety to mix things up, not get a little obvious in his approach, and will make it a rough and tumble night for Rigondeaux. I'd back Rigo but Mares has a good chance. I don't really think Santa Cruz has that much of a chance
If I were a betting man... I'd say yes he probably does. Frampton is good but right now id say Santa Cruz is too much for him.
Frampton and quigg are good fighters, they will become world champions. Just the guys around 122 and 126 are pretty special in their own unoque way and they have little chance of pulling off a W against the likes leo, mares and rigo.
i'd have to disagree.... though Santa Cruz is phenomenal with what he does, he'd get picked apart and sharp-shooted Rigondeaux will have enough movement where Cruz can't set up his combos easily A very comparable play-out like Mayweather vs Guerrerro... he'd get sharp-shooted enough to slow him down from pressing forward so much by the mid rounds
I'm not sure if Santa Cruz or Frampton or Quigg have peaked yet. Saying that Irish fans won't agree is a bit naive of you. I'm sure a lot of Irish people think Santa Cruz is a great fighter and have it as close one. Do you seriously judge a nation of boxing fans based on this website? Any way 122 is heating up nicely.
I think too many on here are underestimating Framptons boxing skills, he can box well on the backfoot aswell as fight and has decent power and a good chin, he wouldnt just stand there and take it from Santa he has the skillset to nullify, plus Santa gets hit easily. It would be a good close fight As for those saying Santa beats rigo Dream on......
