***** Special Catchweight fight 143, since Kostas best weight was 140,.Cottos 147 Both in Primes, who wins???? ***** Keep in mind,Kosta got his ass beat by phillips and hatton, hes very beatable ,
But he has power to spare and he made Judah do the chicken dance, so I'm going with Tyzu by KO. And he was past prime against Hatton, everyone knows that.
He is very beatable? Very? He hit caught by Phillips, that's true. Then murdered everyone for eight years straight and unified all three belts after. If we are talking prime, Hatton was his last fight, not in his prime, prime is the guy that knocked out Judah in 2. He lost Only twice , and this guy is using his last fight to judge him, that's like judging Roy jones or Ali from their last fight, silly. Dumb ass said very beatable.
Between 1989 (when Tszyu lost in the world amateur championships to the gold medalist from the 1988 Olympics) and 2005 (when Tszyu lost to Hatton having fought three rounds in the previous two and a half years leading in) Tszyu lost once - to Cool Vince. That's a sixteen year period where he lost only once while facing the best amateurs in the world from 1989 to 1991 and the best professionals in the world who were willing to face him from 1992 to 2005. I doubt there's another fighter in the game who can claim only one loss over a sixteen year period facing the same calibre of opponent. As to the loss that did occur during that period, Tszyu went into the Cool Vince fight coming off a farcical contest against Leonardo Mas where he didn't get any rounds in. He was underdone going into that fight just as he was going into the Hatton fight. And in both of those fights he was fighting on the other side of the world to where he was based. Long distance travel is a tough opponent for any fighter. Tszyu's pro career was far from perfect and he lacks that one big win against a prime A-level guy like an Oscar or a Shane Mosley that would see him ranked a little higher on the ATG scale. But seriously, one loss in sixteen years and claiming the world amateur championship and undisputed professional championship in what was hot weight division at the time is pretty good going. Prime Tszyu kayos Prime Cotto. Tszyu was physically tougher than Cotto and punched harder.
Tyzu not only wins, but sparks him. Cotto throws too fat. Too good a cross with too good timing. Tyzu catches him in space flush. Good night.
Kostya Tszyu is without doubt the single most overrated boxer i've ever seen, as soon as Ricky Hatton battered him into retirement he suddenly became this head to head beast who would have KO'd everyone from Duran to Pacquiao @140
Prime Tszyu had complete skillset and devastating power. Aside from solid chin, physical strength and stamina. He would be too much for Cotto. I see a Margo style beatdown, without the bricks.
Most a was top 10 p4p when Ricky made him quit, maybe not prime but still very good and not far removed fromrime. Most a fans act as if he was a shot fighter lol
Yeah the mythical prime Kostya who never once faced anyone as good as Cotto the one time he did step it up he was brutally clubbed around the ring like a baby seal.
Tszyu all day long at that weight. Cotto was chinny at 140. Don't see him being substantially less chinny at the catchweight.
That fight was complete crap. Fouls galore. Had Tszyu fought Hatton in a decently officiated fight it would have been totally different.
