i was there from right after the ledwaba fight...all the way to the 3rd fight with marquez.

never thought he was juicing...but i thought a few things were at work...careful matchmaking...weight stipulations etc...

say what you will about each individual bout...but that run from barerra, to morales, marquez, diaz, dlh, hatton, cotto, clottey, margarito and mosley was meteoric. there were several fights in there that no one thought he could win.

behind the scenes bull**** or not...none of those wins were guaranteed.

Exactly and I remember clearly after Morales fought Raheem after the weigh in how happy fortune was or excited he was to see Erik struggling on the scales I was like what the ****...

Matchmaking was the ticket for the most part, I do not believe the catchweight effected Cotto to be honest. However I do believe it did have an effect on Margarito look at him at the final presser he looked all sucked up.

and DLH well what happened to Oscar is exactly what Floyd is trying to pull with Canelo :-(

    cotto was a combination of...

    1. coming off that margarito fight

    2. not having a real corner

    3. it's speculation on my part...but i do believe a rehydration clause was in play with a lot of pacs fights...cotto's too.

I see Pacquiao has overcome his "Needle Phobia", good on him :good
But considering that Pacquiao needs atleast 24 DAYS to fully recover from a small blood sample, will we see a shell of Pacquiao? :huh
What of Rios comes back and says that he doesn't have to do "EXTRA Testing", only what the commission requires... Perhaps Manny doesn't want the fight and is putting this stipulation to duck Rios. :think
Maybe Pacquiao is requesting random testing to weaken Rios.

Here's a serious question, when is Pacquiao's term as a congressman up, and when does he run for office again?

I believe #2 is the reason.... The 145 IMO helped Cotto go as long as he did in that fight he was dropped with some wicked **** that uppercut was ****ing nasty those extra 2 pounds he took off IMO helped him he was in solid shape IMO.

I have never heard of a rehydration agreement for that fight......:huh

But Cotto himself said the extra weight loss made him weaker. Are you saying he lied? Team Pac wanted a rematch not long ago and still didn't want to fight Cotto at his most comfortable weight. To me that doesn't say Pac is confident or can beat Cotto at any weight. The win is still a good performance by Pac; I just don't buy the BS in saying Cotto was not affected by the weight at all.

Thats exactly what I am saying he lied, Because right after the fight he said the weight was not an issue, it wasnt until recently that he started to say that ****.... whats funny is he claims a catchweight rematch would have drained him tells pac to **** of then turns around and fights Margarito at a catchweight :patsch

i speculated that they were using 'non-disclosure agreements'

meaning...the opponents and their teams signed contracts where they agreed they would not make this public knowledge. the reason i believe this to be the case is because i have signed a similar contract in the past and i know they exist. also...roger mayweather made a comment about ricky hatton not being allowed to gain more than 5lbs after the initial weigh in when he fought pac. (remember how that one ended?) how would roger have that info? floyd sr trained pac...so he'd know. i think it's true...but i seriously doubt anyone would admit to it...especially if they signed contracts. i made comments about it on more than one forum and posted rogers statements and they've all been erased. i have done searches trying to find it again and i've had zero luck.

the other reason i believe that to be the case is because cotto himself was rail roaded by arum and the wbo. cotto didn't want the catchweight for that fight and said that if it wasn't at 147...then the title would not be on the line. the president of the wbo went against cotto and said.."oh yes it will." and pretty much hung him out to dry. when pac and arum were trying to get the rematch...cotto made statements basically saying that he would not play their games this time and that if they wanted to do the rematch it would have to be at 154. pac and arum balked at the rematch. that spoke volumes imo.

Good on Manny for testing, but he screwed up a whole lot of money and his reputation for ducking tests before.

If Manny loses to Rios' basic skilled but with this testing it will crap all over Manny's entire career.

he was in the drivers seat with margarito...so he could do that. but ask yourself this....where did he get the idea to do that?

leonard did the same thing when he fought lalonde. guess who leonard was promoted by?

I know but that isnt my point, How are you going to talk about being drained at a catchweight then fight in one yourself its not like he said only Margarito has to fight at a catch weight he had to make that as well

i remember manny steward saying that cotto's ideal weight was 150 and that he was forced to fight at 154 because of that.

i thought the catchweight was unnecessary and stupid to be honest...but it was just cotto's way of trying to flex. the williams camp did a similar thing against sergio martinez in the rematch. it wasn't necessary.

I think its because he saw how Margarito looked leading up to the weigh in for the Pacquiao fight the man looked sick like he had ****ing aids
