Duran and Leonard made ridiculous comments. Like the fab 4 again is untouchable.

Viruet, a defensive cutie twice lasted the distance against prime Duran with less power and natural ability than Floyd. So can't see Floyd getting stopped, even though I don't see him winning that hypothetical match-up.

I tend to think that guys who start these type of threads just hate floyd.

You know, we ought to throw Benitez and Pryor into the mix as well. Why not?

Because Pryor doesn't belong there. He was a cheat who fought with little black bottles and doctored gloves. He gets smoked by any of these guys, including Floyd.

He gave Arguello a rematch without any bottles or anything and still gave Arguello another huge ass whipping. Bottles or not, I think Pryor would have beaten Arguello.

Yeah, he beat a smaller guy moving into his weightclass with the help of cocaine, asthma meds and doctored gloves. He would never have made it out of the first fight on his feet without cheating, and Arguello was done after that fight. Ruined by a cheat.

Pryor's a worse cheat than Margo, Tito and Resto combined. **** him.

I think so also. I don't think there was anything in that bottle, yet say there was for the sake of a discussion. He beat Arguello so badly in that first fight that Alexis didn't have anything left in the rematch. I would have loved to have seen how Pryor would have done against the fab 4, including Benitez who I think has a good style to beat him.

well Im going to use a Example that covers almost every sport.

    Take Basketball.
    Lebron and Kobe awesome.

But statistics not me show that it was way harder to score in the 80's and 90's era and it was a ton tougher defensively.
Thats not me I tend to agree cos the toughest centre these guys face now is Howard and rrrr ummm thats right there is No other awesome Centre.

But shot remember Abdul Jabbar maybe you remember Olajuwon maybe Dave Robinson how about Moses Malone what about Patrick Ewing.

No wonder these guys can blaze to the ring.

Same goes for the over protected QB's these days they have changed rules plus the Linebackers and Defensive Linemen are not what they used to be.

No wonder they throw for 4500 yards every year.

And the same goes with Boxing IMO.

Pro boxers today are pampered dont have to work as hard as back then and clearly have NO WHERE near as much Heart and Pride as back in the day.

**** Ray Robinson would fight 5 to 6 times a Year even more and Im only using a Example.
    1951 Ray Robinson fought

Jake LaMotta World Title Fight 160
    Holly Mims
    Don Ellis
    Jean Wanes
    Jan de Bruin
    Jean Walzack
    Gerhard Hecht
    Cyrille Delannoit
Randy Turpin World Title Fight 160
Randy Turpin World Title Fight 160

Thats in a year period and Ive looked at 1950 and its bigger.

I know its different Now I dont doubt that but could you see these Pampered Boxers Now do that.
    **** NO.

Could you imagine putting just one of them in today's division.

That being said, I think Mayweather could hang with these guys, as Leonard also said in the Mayweather documentary.

I think you have to take into account that Pryor did nothing north of 140 MAG.He doesn't really belong anywhere near these guys.
Arguello was shot in the first fight, and anything he had left Pryor took it away, whether you think it was by fair means or foul.I think some younger fans make a big mistake when they try to judge Flaco on the Pryor fights.
A bit like judging Morales on the Garcia fights, albeit Arguello maybe hadn't looked as shopworn.

I agree. And to think even older, he was probably a good right hand away from winning that fight. That right hand which snapped Pryor's head back (I forget the round) should have knocked out Pryor, but at that point Alexis was a little worn out himself.

Styles make fights. Viruet posed no threat whatsoever and went in solely to survive. Mayweather despite the haters is not an out and out runner, he would stay in range, or go to the ropes with his philly shell defence and get broken down badly.

I am with drew on this one, I cannot see Duran stopping Mayweather. Floyd is to smart, sees everything coming, calm under fire and can make adjustments and south of 147 he was at his peak physically and was far more mobile. I would favour Duran but not by KO and not by much.
