I honestly believe Mayweather could win versus Canelo at 154, just as Ward could have beaten Dawson at 175. It's just sad to me when guys like this have greatness within reach, but elect not to grab it. Instead, they would rather play it safe.

What made Ward vs Dawson even more of a joke was Ward ducked Bute to bring Dawson down.

ward's a SMW, floyd started at super feather
big,big difference between asking ward to move up, and floyd to move up again

True, however not long ago Floyd and his minions were very loud about being #1 at 154. Ward made no such claim about LHW

C'mon I love Floyd but him trying to bring down Canelo to 147 is a ***** move. He had no problem fighting Baldo for a belt who outweighed him 15-20 pds or DLH at 154 or Cotto at 154 he should face Canelo at 154 then. Canelo isn't nearly as much of a threat as people make him out to be and if Floyd fights the way he did against Guerrero he's getting that W easily with a few shaky moments.

Far worse than Dawson/Ward where Dawson asked and agreed to fight at 168. Also both Floyd and Canelo are the best fighters at 154 and if people do their history then they'll know greats have been outweighed by 20-25 and even 30 pds yet still won or at least made the fights competitive. Mainly ol days but my point still stands. This weight difference is being blown out of the water especially since some people make Floyd out to be a demigod. Funny even if he whoops Canelo or beats him decisively which I hope, It'll still be seen as Floyd against another fighter who he was too good to be facing. Still hope Canelo/Floyd happens to shut up at least a few people.

That and lets wait until solid evidence comes out. Have not seen Floyd say he wants the fight at 147 and this fight isn't even announced *yet* *hopefully yet*.

Dawson is 30 and a huge LHW and he made SMW. Canelo is 22 and should be able to do make WW.

canelo will move naturally into MW in the next couple of years, it would be folly for him to drain down to WW

Yo Pimp c'mon bruh, I know you ride and die for Floyd but you're smart enough to know Canelo can't make 147 pounds without it not having a major effect on him.

    1) To laugh at the revisionists claiming Floyd was cherrypicking him yet previously brought Canelo up as a huge threat.

    2) To watch another clinic/classic competitive fight ala Cotto/Floyd or Castillo/Floyd by Money

    3) Not much else to fight and Alvarez is his best option. Rather this in Sept as Floyd already just had an easy fight in Guerrero and Alvarez did just have his best win albeit close. Floyd tends to fight guys coming off big wins/performances.

I'm just making a point by saying if Dawson can do it why can't Canelo? With that said I want the fight to be at 154 so there will be no excuses after PBF tools him. PBF should come in on fight night no more than 150 and stick and move on his ass all night long. After people will say he ran but in reality it will be a boxing lesson.

I think he would get all the credit he deserves if he ever did beat Canelo at 154. Hell, he would get credit even if he loses merely for taking the risk. Because risk and drama has been the most obvious things missing from his resume. If he won, it would be the first truly great win since beating Corrales.

Dawson's body clearly could not do it though...technically he made the weight, yes, but come on, he was emaciated. Let's be real here.
