Angulo is one of my favourite fighters. Would like to see him pull this off but he looked terrible in his last outing which could be down to still having ring rust from his long layoff, also Lara is slightly over-rated by some people here. On current form Lara should win by UD but if Angulo studies what Martyrosian did in the first few rounds against Lara and does it even better then he can win this fight by UD or stoppage.
I don't see lara losing a round and angulo's defense is horrible and i wouldn't be surprised if lara stops him .If a wilder puncher like kirkland can land at will on angulo, then lara will have a great performance.
I am supporting Angulo in this fight but Lara will find a way to clash heads create a cut and get out of the fight, but I am hoping Angulo makes it home with that left hook I would love nothing more than to see this piece of **** knock off boxer Lara laid the **** out.
I really dont like Lara as a fighter but I also never thought Angulo was elite Angulo looked very vulnerable in his last fight and his career has been a mess Lara should win but he has under performed in the past
Angulo. Of all the 154 pounders I feel stylistically these guys are bad for each other. Lara will give Angulo movement and counters which is his weakness. Angulo will pressure Lara all 12 rounds which is his weakness. I think Angulo is hungrier though. He just spent time in prison so he lost precious time that he needed to become one of the elites. I think his pressure it going to bother Lara and we will see why Lara always fouls when inside. I think it's because he has a weak chin and pressure is the best way to find out about this. Angulo has a rock solid chin so I dont see him having a problem taking Laras single shots. The Kirkland stoppage was caused by fatigue as well as Kirkland being a bigger puncher than Lara and throws in combinations. By the middle rounds Lara will get overwhelmed and will go down at some point.
its funny how some people say Lara cant handle pressure. He easily handled the king of pressure PW and a very stubborn pressure fighter like Hernandez. Pressure doesnt bother Lara who feeds himself of people coming forward, its another counterpuncher what can bother Lara-if dont count Molina who was absolutly the wrong way Lara should fight. Vanes was doing ok the first few rds because he was very careful and following Lara on the right angles while Lara was shy unleashing his hands. As soon as Lara found his mark and range the fight shifted on his direction. Cintron outboxed Angulo, imagine how hes gonna look against Lara.
Lara's workrate is very low, but his accuracy is high. Angulo will try to force the fight, but I see him following Lara around the ring and eating pot shots more than I see him cutting off the ring and doing damage. The crowd will be backing Angulo and boo when Lara's name is read as a wide UD winner.
I will add an observation. Id always have Lara a favorite against Canelo, after seen what Canelo did against Trout i have this fight as 50-50. Because Canelo can box, Angulo can't.
70-30 in favor of Lara, with the right strategy Angulos power and body work can get the job done. He will have to be in tremendous shape to close the ring off and go to work with a right guard. Good fight for that mystery factor angulo can bring to the table with the right circumstances, likely its Lara target practice but I want to believe angulo can make it interesting
Angulo present a different pressure style though, hits way harder they are not arm punches, slower more powerful, can't wait should be a good one. I got Lara but let's see what happens.
This will be an instructional seminar on dissecting crude pressure. Whoever owns the broadcast rights should market DVDs of it. Boxing 101.
