When we rate Pea, we usually give him the nod over Chavez. We don't really consider it a draw.

and oscar wouldnt fight margo,instead he tried to cherry pick a guy with one fight at 135 and got his ass kicked

 

naw pea is simply ranked on his talent and his actual wins,he had a great career

 

I think the Chavez win really gave him that boost he needed to a top 20 ATG list.

Sure he had other great wins but this fight was his biggest achievement.

Without that decisive atg win, he would be a top 25-30 fighter.

 

Pea was shot for the Trinidad bout. Does that look like a shot Whitaker to you really?

If Pea was shot, Oscar was green atsch (These are my 2 faves by the way so **** you guys )

There are fights you just can't overlook as robberies..they were.

Whitaker/Chavez
Oscar/Trinidad

 

Chavez was 34 years old. And started his career at 130. And arguably didn't accumulate another relevant victory afterward.

Whitaker was 33 years old. And started his career at 135. And never won a fight after the Oscar loss.

Chavez was 36 years old for the rematch. And even more arguably didn't accumulate another relevant victory afterward.




But let me guess, I'm a "hater noob who doesn't know **** about boxing" because I have chosen to list out why certain victories are being overvalued in this thread when other victories are just as frequently and easily dismissed or minimized.

 

Lennox Lewis is Evander's Daddy.

It's funny because people talk **** about Evander for having too many kids and not taking care of them but Lennox also had a lot of kids and he don't give one **** about Lil Vitali, Lil Tyson,Lil Evander, Lil Bowe.. etc

 

I think there pretty comparable, and you could make an argument to have DLH ahead. He definitely gets underrated.

 

Wow, I didn't know the Sturm fight had controversy surrounding it. I thought it was a relatively easy win for Oscar.

Oscar's career is full of shady victories and losses. Whitaker, Mosley II, Sturm. Who else?

The Trinidad win is good but not on the level of Mayweather, Pacquiao and Hopkins.

 

Pea Whitaker clown dropped and out landed Oscar in that fight. Still not embarrassing because Pea did that to a lot of guys.
