Has any other athlete dominated their respective sports the way Mayweather has?

That would be like my saying Marciano is 49-0, what does 44-0 mean?

Tiger is still #1. He's only 4 victories away from the record in both pro wins and majors if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, I'm not a big Golf fan. Just pointing out there are dominant guys in other sports.

That is subjective. Golf and Tennis are both highly skilled sports.

Also Mayweather is in a weightclass. Golf and Tennis take on everyone

If Floyd fought all weights and ages then u could compare it. I';ll wait for Floyd to fight wlad lol

... Come on dude, you're really not arguing that Golf is harder than boxing.

I understand that it's hard in it's own right but no man, just no.

Golf you're not being punched constantly in the body/face.

Just the nerves of it all makes boxing the hardest sport. There was a ranking done by ESPN which showed the same thing.

When you fight once a year and its usually a bum... Its not that hard to win and say your "Dominating" the sport!

SRR used to defend his belt 8+ times a year... That was a real fighter! Void is a fake ATG man... He's fabricated! He's not about **** man...

He's #1 when you look at his overall achievements compared to the rest. But he hasn't been relevant in the last 4 years. Look at the tournament wins. He hasn't placed first in any big tournament in 4 years.

You cannot have him at the top of boxing.

It's not subject to what someone thinks is #1 like in boxing. Tiger is the #1 rated golfer based on his recent wins and competition. It's almost like the BCS.

So do you believe that Mayweather was the #1 boxer in 1998?

It wasn't until late 2005 that he became the Ring Magazine and recognized top fighter in the world.

Plus the retirement which bumped him out of the 2008 rankings.

Plus the majority of fans and critics (I wasn't one of them) had Pacquiao as #1 in 2009, 2010, and even half had him #1 at the end of 2011.

So really, Mayweather has been dominating for 4 of his 17 year career, if all that matters is being #1 which you're above response regarding Federer/Nadal/Djokovic indicates. In which case there are probably hundreds of athletes more dominant at their sport than Mayweather.

No, those athletes being named CRUSH their competition. Floyd does not crush his opponents. He does what he has to do to win. Also, those other athletes compete against the best and can not hide from them or avoid them unlike Floyd.:hey

Albert Pujols - 12 straight years hitting 30 or more home runs - 6 of those years he hit 40+ home runs, 10 straight years hitting .310 batting average or more. 10 straight years driving in 100+ runs. In what was considered his worst year, he hit 30 home runs and drove in 105 runs. He's in his 13th year and is 20 home runs away from joining the 500 home run club, which gives you a ticket to the HOF in MLB [The MLB HOF is very prestigious, it's like what the top 100 ATG list is to boxing].

Miguel Cabrera is another beast in the MLB.

    NBA: Tim Duncan.

    NFL: Brett Favre.

You cannot argue that the sheer pool of people ur against in both tennis and golf is vastly superior to the welterweight division.

More people to defend against means it is harder to stay on top.

    It's a formula.

    He is #1.

And he was top 5 or 10 during that whole span of him playing the worst golf of his life.

Mayweather entered the P4P top 10 in 1998. He bounced around from #8 to #5 to #8 to #2 to #1 to unranked to #2 to #1.

Don't act like Floyd has been #1 for even half of his 17 year career.

Mayweather dominating the Welterweight division is like ranking each NFL position separately.

    LB- Ray Lewis
    QB- Tom Brady
    TE- Tony Gonzalez

If boxing had a legit bracket system to earn championships like tennis, Floyd wouldn't be undefeated.

Void is not the best boxer in the world, the Klitschkos are, they will beat everyone in every weight class. Let's see Void fight Vitali or Vlad. SOB Ward claims he can knocked both Klitschkos out easily, easy fight for him, OK, let's see him prove it..............
