except bags dont hit back, ive seen boxers look like beast on the bags then get schooled in the ring. Means nothing.
He's not moving in straight lines, he was circling the back as he stepped into his punches for the whole first minute.
You probably don't, otherwise your definition of novice should be amended. Also, to be fair, no one here actually knows if/what he could have been working on (if anything at all). But I agree with the majority on the whole, the only really impressive thing about that video was his speed, which was as impressive as always.
Right. Looks relatively unimpressive, but not every piece of bag/mittwork is going to be an exhibition on beastliness.
Definitely. I actually don't know when his next bout is, at what stage in camp he is, what he had done in the gym before that. That round on the bag could have been his way of finishing off a session. No one knows, so you can't actually be that critical. Then you take in to consideration that people have off days in the gym, they have days were they just want to hit the bag as hard as possible, or as many times as possible to relieve stress. As long as he peaks on fight night, and keeps improving, I don't really care. But like I said, his speed is a sight to see.
DMV represent. He has some serious speed, but could use some work on his D. He'll be a force to be reckoned with in the sport soon.
How can you even compare that to Pacquiao. You want to see a prime Featherweight and Super Featherweight version of Pacquiao doing the heavy bag? You want to see real intensity and speed with power included? Blitzing combination and in and out? Watch this!!! :bbb [yt]i7dB_4yXPv4[/yt]
Stop being an ******* !! Anyone that has seen Russel knows he's not all bag work. What he does on the bag he pretty much duplicates in the ring. His body punches are murderous and he comets to them fully. He been caught several time doing so but you can see that he's been working to correct that flaw in his defense.
Gary Russell Jr is an excitement machine. incredible stamina and athleticism, seeing his training footage reminds you of a hungry roy jones jr
Thought this was a video of recent footage... Showed impressive speed which we all knew he had. Hope to see him in the ring soon, with competition above the level he's been facing.
