    Problem is...he hasnt dominated?

When you have a 17 weight category in boxing when you in reality need only 8 then it dilutes the quality-

From 130 to 154 there 5 different weight divisions, including 4 major belts, plus the Lineal which gets lost if a fighter retires.

When you think how people laughed at D. Haye for fighting Wlad but there is a 40 POUND DIFFERENCE between them....yet we have 5 WEIGHTs in a 24 pound range.

    Reality-

    200 plus Heavies - W. Klitshcko

    200 cruisers - Vacant

    175 Light-Heavy A. Ward

    160 Middle S. Martinez

    147 Welter F. Mayweather

    135 Lightweight JM Marquez

    126 Feather Vacant

    122 Batam Vacant

If boxing was structured, and had say only 2 belts in each division which prevented a champion avoiding a threat which F. Patterson did with S. Liston....we would have an easier time unifying the belts, and a more honest look at who is the top 10 or 15 in each division.

NOW Floyd is in reality a 2 weight champion...imagine from 1996 to 2013 there were only 2 belts in each division, and far more depth do you honestly think he would be undefeated?

Another problem, cherry picking once a year...and winning by points isnt dominating

Its very impressive to be on top in a combat sport for so long.

This is a wear and tear sport, longevity should be looked on with awe.

In fact lets all be really honest, the main man in boxing is the heavyweight champion...lets be real here.

Its fun, its exciting watching Pacquaio, Mayweather, Gamboa...great skills, speed, excitment but i could find amatuer heavyweights like P. Hrgovic or a clumsy A. Joshua beat them up?

ever heard of georges saint pierre?
dominating is beating your opponents clearly, smart fighters who don't have mega-pop break down their opponents

He is very dominant but darts, golf etc...it easy when your opponent isnt in the way.....football, basketball, mma, boxing etc you could have the best performance of your life but becuase ur opponent is playing better you lose.

The others you play with yourself essentially.

    G. St Pierre has to face the number 1 pretty much each time out...plus everyone knows in the pound for pound stakes that Aldo, Jones and Silva are better.

Golf isnt a real sport. It's a hobby for fat men that picked up a lot of hype and money.
