Why do people keep saying this when Cotto admitted that Bob Arum never even discussed the possibility of fighting Mayweather with him? As in, it was a non-issue. Just amazes me how people choose to ignore what Miguel Cotto has said. You know, the actual fighter who has inside knowledge of Top Rank, not random Internet fans with an agenda.

The Margarito issue is also WELL DOCUMENTED. Bob Arum didn't want to make the fight with Oscar and Mayweather bought himself out of the contract. It's on an ESPN article and you can quote Bob Arum as the reason for the fights not happening. Floyd wanted Margarito, Hatton, Cotto, and Oscar. Bob Arum said no, and people now blame Floyd? ****ing stupid. (Again, Bob Arum's personal beef [with Oscar] ****ing up fights.)

Mosley was called out FOR YEARS by Mayweather. People need to stop. Mayweather had been calling out both Shane and Oscar since he was a lightweight. They were cash cows, Mayweather was "high risk, high reward." People excuse Oscar and Shane for not answering his calls to fight earlier in his career, but then blame Mayweather in the same breath for "waiting." Stupid.

Williams? People just pick names out of a hat apparently. Please list at what point in time was Mayweather supposed to fight Williams? There isn't one.....

 

Such an easy excuse to hide behind a promoter ... If history has taught us anything it's that if both fighters REALLY want the fight any fight can't be made , especially if there's money from both sides to make,
With all the social media these days fighters can online campaign for a fight to be made until the public demand it , and I don't mean half arse it I mean really go for a fight

You do know what a contract is right? The promoters call the shots pal. They are the ones putting up the money. Welcome to reality. Promoters don't give a damn what the public says or thinks, they care about making $$$$ off their "product". (fighters) They could give 2 shits what it means for that fighter's legacy or the fans if it doesn't translate into dollars earned for future events.

 

Oscar would be top 25 ATG if he wasn't an 8 round fighter.

As it is, he's top 70.
