I like Russell Jr but the guy really needs to step up. Hopefully the fight with Gonzales can be made because it would be a good test for him.
indeed he's fast but he should take a guy like PDL as a test-fight to see how good he is ! Then if he beats convincingly PDL, he can fight Mares, Rigo or DonaYre :yep
yeah the bag work wasn't that impressive tbh. But some of you guys are acting like bitches. Oh the bag doesn't hit back atsch shut the **** up
****, that was Manny in his prime at superfeather? ****, his bag work was ****ing impressive. I'm surprised Morales was able to handle him. Pacquiao was a ****ing machine. I thought he was going to dominate Morales just like he did Barrera. Morales is a beast too. Anyways, GRJ really needs to step up, and I hope he proves himself against Jhonny Gonzalez, PDL, or Abner Mares. At this point, I think it would be a mismatch to put him against the little beast Mares.
I feel like Russel can be one of the greats. we"ll know by the end of next year. hopefully he at least fight 3-4 times this year
OK... ******* may be a lil excessive ! But to say this young man is not impressive, is just plane hateful.. Garry Russel is 360 degrees on the ball, when it comes to his gym work! Anyone that has witness gary Russle put in work during a gym session, will say that he's a little extra extraordinary! The bag demonstration is not even the tip of the ice berg, of the kind of work that boy does in the gym!!! He's not even done half on that bag, compared to what he has done to live opponents.
GRJ is an amazing talent. You guys criticizing his bag work are stupid, he's just working on his conditioning. I just shake my head when I see guys get all serious on the heavybag trying to look flash and powerful. Heavybag is NOTHING like boxing, james toney almost never hit the heavybag. He said those guys are bag beaters not FIGHTERS.
This clip is old but there are plenty of newer ones out there, he puts in some hard work- animal like training
There is NOTHING impressive about any bag work. If you wanna impress someone in boxing, throw some gloves on and get in the ring and spar.
