Oscar was on the downside when he fought Pacman, but Pacman did win and deserves some credit.

exactly. Time takes care of all of this and the truth is clear after many years. Right now he just beat Guerrero and people are impressed. But, in 20 years people look back at Floyd's resume and don't see Manny and that affects his ATG ranking by about 15 points. Say he retires at 50 ATG ranking.. He would be 35 ATG ranking with the Manny win and 50 without it. He blew it by not fighting him. For Manny it does not mean as much, he fought the guys he could all the time in his career.

I see your point. The only thing I am saying is not many guys could beat Oscar at any time, and Manny did it. How many losses does Oscaxr have at 147? 1 or 2 after all those fights at 147, that is great. I think Oscar will go down as greater in many years because of his opposition. The guy fought everyone.

I agree MAG, and yeah I see Floyd being ranked lower as time goes on contrary to the current opinion that he'll be appreciated more. He doesn't have that defining win, and never will. The defining win means a lot. When your defining win is Cotto, it doesn't look too good.

Whitaker had much better movement and he threw combinations when he was younger. This is the same Whitaker who hadn't looked good in years in my opinion prior to the De La Hoya fight. He was on coke and wasn't the same.

fought the best?? whos the best?? Floyd tried to fight so many people and got ducked. Casamayor and Frietas both turned down fights. Arum said no to Mayweather about fighting Cotto in 2005. Tried to fight Mosley in 2006, he complains about a loose tooth. i mean gimme a break.

If u think Margarito was gonna be the one to beat Floyd think again. Hes always fought the best. I see no clear duck Mayweather has ever done. And if Pacquiao takes the test then that fight would've been made so thats not a duck either

yep,, and I always thought Oscar goes up in ranking. And he keeps himself so much into boxing, it reminds people of him also. He will always have a good ATG ranking. I am not sure where most people rank him, but I would think about 40.. Which is really good. A lot of people think if someone is ranked 40 or 50, that it is a bad ranking, but some of the greatest ever are ranked at that point.

to me if your gonna do an ATG u need to do resume and talent/skill

You might be able to say Oscar has a better resume (to many losses in big fights for me to rank him higher) but even if u do that. The Best Oscar was no where near mayweather. never faster, never as accurate, defense wise, body punching, ring genralship, and hes 36 and is still the best. Oscar was doing blow and in fishnets at 36.

    Mayweather wins :good:good

I think Oscar is somewhere between 60-80 ATG while Floyd is somewhere 35-55 at the moment. You can not just discard the fact that one fighter is unbeaten. I ads a lot to Floyd standing.

Can you disregard that one fighter took on all challenges while another won't even fight a freckled red headed kid because he a little more stronger? Seriously?

Oscar fought everyone. Mayweather ducked Williams, Margarito, prime Cotto, prime Mosley...

Who in Mayweather's resume would beat Oscar?

I can name a handful of fighters in Oscar's that would beat Floyd.

Prime Oscar had more heart than Floyd. In boxing, heart goes a very very long way. While Oscar was fighting Hopkins type fighters, Floyd is scared of a 22 year old ginger.
