Yeah I don't doubt that it's a loss, but these factors are HUGE. I forgot to add that Oscar actually required medical attention due to him suffering exhaustion and could only hydrate 2lbs haha! So what I am saying is that although it's a loss, it doesn't taint Oscar's greatness.

So no, it's not 'such bull****'.

    Imagine this:
    Terence Crawford vs Floyd Mayweather
Catchweight bout, and Mayweather is made to weigh 138lbs!
Mayweather makes the weight but looks dead in the weigh in, and also requires medical attention because of his dehydration.
Mayweather only hydrates to 140lbs when his bodyweight on fightnight is usually 153lbs for example.
In the build up to the fight, Mayweather has problems with depression and was a heavy drug user and used to get drunk in training camps, looked terrible in his last fight against a no-namer like Steve Forbes, is considered 4/5 years past his prime. Still the favourite to beat a small Crawford though because of his experience and his WEIGHT. The weight advantage was removed at the time of the fight.

    - Terence Crawford did not beat Floyd Mayweather, he beat Dead Boy floyd.

I will summarise simple answers given to arguments for Mayweather, if anyone wants to add in defense of Mayweather, or add a further answer to these arguments feel free:

    1. Mayweather is undefeated, has 44-0 ya dig! blat! No blueprint!

    a. S'all about Baldomir and Bruseles baby! You can be 100% certain that Oscar go through Mayweather's resume undefeated too, and can claim no blueprint.

    b. Mayweather would go through a few and arguably, numerous defeats with Oscar's resume. Oscar's resume > Floyd's.

    2. Mayweather wasn't a weight cutter like Oscar, Oscar's pre-147 resume is a joke because of this

Mayweather holds the advantage here. However he has had 17 years to put on weight gradually, Oscar did it in a shorter period of time. Oscar's pre-147 resume is not a joke because Oscar fought very good opposition and was too green, not in his prime. So technically we shouldn't think anything of Canelo's current and future wins at 154lbs then. It is a 'joke'.

    3. Mayweather is more skilled than Oscar
Yes. I agree. However, this doesn't change the fact that he's not skilled enough to beat a Prime Oscar according to the view of most in a H2H matchup, nor does it change the fact that a PRIME Oscar is usually favoured in H2H matchups against opponents.

ODLH beat a handful of smaller guys moving up in weight, Gatti, Forbes, and John John Molina to name a few. Then we have the questionable decision wins he received, Whitaker, Quartey and Sturm come to mind here. Finally there is the fact that he lost the vast majority of his big fights, Mosley twice, Mayweather and the Hopkins fight where he was curled up on mat in the fetal position like a stuck pig.

If you wanted to throw in the cross dressing and his obvious closet homosexuality, then that would be par for the course.

Losses shouldn't detract, they're failures to add W's, they can't take away what you've accomplished.

This is distinctly post-Mayweather Jr. thinking.

    Ridiculous thnking.

Oscar De La Hoya challenged everyone and anyone of his time. Took on all comers, even when he had everything to lose. As a result he picked up a few losses.

Mayweather avoided Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito, Prime Cotto and Mosley to name a few, and he doesn't even want to fight a red headed 22 year old kid, and you're giving him credit or that?

Listen u can say he avoided all those fights but there's no facts. thats just your thinking. the only facts are

Cotto and Hatton sat ringside for Mayweather-Gatti, Hatton saw Gatti get hit with a 10 punch combo and turned down the fight ( Mayweather would've been lineal champ at 140) so when that happen Mayweather asked Arum if he can fight Cotto, Arum said NO (Like he did with Pacquiao go figure, that snake) so thats what happened in 2005.

2006 wanted to fight Mosley but he said he needed some dental work.

those are the facts. u saying that he ducked Williams, Margarito and everybody else is not true. never any talks, never any contracts, gimme a break. just cause the fights never happened u cant say he ducked them.

and this Margarito stuff is out of control. would u want to fight a title holder or the lineal champ??? Thats like saying u would want to fight Rios over Danny Garcia. yes Baldmoir wasnt the best but he was lineal champ so u got to beat him to be the champ.

How about when Judah lost to baldmoir that people still said that Mayweather needs to take the fight because Judah was the most skilled and dangerous person he would've ever fought. so what does Mayweather do??? STILL TAKE THE FIGHT AFTER JUDAH LOST THE LINEAL TITLE!! Thats what champs do but after he spankls him people wanna say Judah wasnt dangerous or wasnt good?? YEAH RIGHT
