All those guys were begging Mayweather for a fight.

Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto in his prime, Shane Mosley years before the actual fight were all signing up to fight Mayweather.

Warriors like De La Hoya, Duran, Leonard, Robinson, Ali, they took on everyone and anyone even when they were on the top of the game and didn't need too.

Mayweather didn't even want to agree to fight a paper champion in Alvarez before Alvarez legitimized himself as a the real JR. MW champion.

    That is the truth.

Oscar moved up and took on Felix Trinidad. Mayweather retired when Margarito, Cotto, and Clottey were the big 3 of the WW division. Floyd was also scared for his health against a midget that ODH had no problem fighting when he was at the end of his career. If Floyd was a WW during Oscars prime, he would have somehow missed fights with Trinidad, Vargas, Whitaker, and Quartey.

    this is for you goofball!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPJhvYXKZK8

listen to Lampley and RJJ, probably the reason why they ducked mayweather. same thing Casamyor and Frietas did. Hatton in 2005 and Arum scary ASS!!
Lets just be honest here, people diodnt want to fight Floyd. He cant put a gun to there heads and say fight me. Mayweather fought everybody he could've fought. so please stop.

and the Margairto stuff is laughable. Like I said, if u wanna be champ of 140 right now, would u fight Avlarado or Danny Garcia?? ummmmm GARCIA!!! Margarito was like Alvarado (actually hes not hes way better but is only an interim belt holder) but Baldmoir was what Garcia is now. yes Mayweather could dominate Garcia like he did Baldmoir but hes the champ and if u want to be the man u got to beat the man. just putting that in context for you.

Oscar cant and wont rank higher weather u agree or not. im not losing no sleep on it, thats just reality. I'm happy Oscar took all those fights but he lost some big ones that would've made him rank higher then Floyd. hell if he beats Floyd he can just rank higher but he didnt.

Wacth the video and shut up about Mayweather ducking people. :bbb:bbb

Oscar fought everyone he possibly could. When has Mayweather fought every champion in a single division? Oscar moved up and fought Whitaker, Trinidad, Quartey, Mosley, Chavez, Gatti, Oba Carr, then moved up again and fought Vargas, Castillejo, Mosley, Mayorga, then moved up and fought Sturm, Hopkins. DAMN!

Mayweather won't even fight Canelo who offers him the biggest money fight possible, because Canelo is more muscular.

Nah there would be nobody to fight.

Listen Arum turned down Cotto to Mayweather and was never gonna sign a deal because hes a SNAKE!! U can say Mayweather never fought him or u can say Cotto never fought him. U wanna know why Arum didnt let Cotto fight Mayweather??? Because Mayweather would've destroyed him!!! Not thats woukd;ve should've stuff but thats a fact that Arum didnt make the fight. If he thought Cotto can beat Mayweather, why didnt he make the fight????? EXACTLY!!

    STFU already. :patsch

Mayweather couldn't even destroy a shot Cotto.

    Pacquiao destroyed Cotto.
    Margarito destroyed Cotto.
Mayweather decisioned Cotto and got ****ed up by Cotto in the process.

There's a reason why Mayweather ducked a prime Cotto.

Cotto wasnt shot!! He was 4 years of the bricks and won 3 fights in a row and looked confortable at 154.

Pacquiao fought Cotto fresh off the bricks and a catch weight :happy:happy

    Margarito had bricks :happy:happy

So Please stop. im Puerto Rican and I LOVE COTTO!! But me and almost all of the ricans knew he couldnt beat Floyd, he got hit way to easy. did u see what Judah did to him?? The only people that thought Cotto could win were in denial Cotto fans and Mayweather haters. thats a small group

    This thread is done dude.

Several of us presented stats, facts, and real arguments as to why Oscar will rank higher, mostly what you guys did is pointed out that Oscar lost a few fights and that poor Mayweather couldn't get the top guys to fight him. :|

    Conclusion:

Oscar fought and beat better opposition.
    Oscar is more decorated.
Oscar is champion in more divisions.
Oscar has more wins over ATGs than Floyd.
Oscar has been champion more times than Floyd.
Oscar would likely be undefeated with Floyd's resume.

Floyd is undefeated with easier opposition than Oscar's.
Floyd is a way better defensive fighter.
Floyd would not be undefeated had he faced Oscar's opposition.

You rank Floyd higher if you like. History will be very kind to Oscar.company.

It definitely does. Maywweather will be much more heralded(as he is now) than DLH. Not to mention he beat him at his first fight at 154.

The thing with Oscar is that he challenged himself his whole career. Trinidad, Quartey, Mosley, Vargas, Whitaker, Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Hopkins. He will be remembered because in an era that started with the cherry picking, he took on everyone. Mayweather on the other hand, somehow missed out on the biggest fight in history and retired when the WW division was looking tough. I don't think history is going to be as kind to Mayweather if he doesn't take on a legit threat over his last few fights.

When we look at Oscar's career we know how he measured up against the best out their at the time because he actually took them on, even past his prime. With Mayweather, his fans will constantly have to guess at how good Mayweather could have done against some of the more dangerous opponents he chose not to take on. Big difference.

Oscar moved up and beat Whitaker at his first fight at 147.

    Whitaker > Mayweayther

Not only did Oscar beat Whitaker at 147, but also Quartey, Trinidad, Gatti, carr, Chavez and a host of others.

Think about that for a second.
