Will FMJ vs Alvarez (154) be one of the biggest size disadvantage fights in boxing?

    Pointless thread since we don't know what the size difference will be.

    that 22 lb difference assumes Canelo will come in at 172 and Floyd at
    150. This could mean crap if Canelo decides to come in at mid 160s and floyd in mid 150s for obvious reasons.

    He weighed 150 lbs against Ortiz and weighed less than 150 lbs 30 days before the Guerrero fight.

    So I can't see him weighing much more than that most likely between 150 - 155 lbs.

    Most fighters that have given away advantages in size are heavy handed or power punches i.e. Ray Robinson (15.5) and Pacquaio (13) vs Marg.

    Floyd doesn't have that type of power.

    Didn't Ortiz weigh like 165? What was he able to do against Floyd with a 15lb advantage ?

    Cotto didn't think so, to ask to defend his 154 belt at 150, vs one eyed Marg coming off a demolition. And Cotto was good enough to send Floyd scurrying back to 147

    Floyd has 26" arms, same as Wladimir Klitschko and longer than Canelo.

    A reach advantage can be more important than weighing more.

    They all fought HW's routinely, conceding 10-40+ pounds.

    Jack Johnson vs. Stanley Ketchel was a massive difference.

    Look at the men who fought Primo Carnera. The weight differential in pounds is next to them...

    No because the on the day weigh ins fighters can wear clothes so i'm doubtful Canelo was actually that weight. You can't forget guys like Roy Jones jr challenging for the world title and outside people going up to face heavyweights, Chavez was much bigger than Martinez. Where did you get the 22lbs from
