    This thread got serious again.. I believe that Tony Thompson was lucky in the way he got a lesson in "being a Scarecrow" AND got paid for it. It's like being at college and getting EMA.. Learning while you're earning.

    Impossible to say, it hitted him right on the ear and on the side of the head, so it doesn't really count, but the fact is, David Price have been protected almost as much as Wilder, and this is a clear sign of a chin less than average;
    Still, Price has had a better career resume than Wilder so far, and his broze medal is more deserved, like his win against Audley is more concrete, so we can suppose Wilder will be exposed not later than between 1-2 rounds against a top 10 opponent.

    Some people dont know **** on this forum. Tony Thompson is the number one ranked boxer in the USA (box rec). So if he gets beat it wont be by a no mark and he is still british champion. Thompson could send Tyson Fury to A and E if he ever fought him.

    Fury isn't fighting Thompson, stop being so defensive....The fact of the matter is that Price got caught by a nothing punch and he went down like a sack of ****. Its not even close to being for the first time, is it?

    Price along with a thousand others got caught, it happens every week in boxing somewhere on the planet and God knows it's happened to a **** load of high profile fighters throughout the years.

    what about the saying we've heard commentators speak a million times - "It's Heavyweight boxing, it only takes one punch to finish or change a fight..." what this doesn't apply to this fight?

    Iv just spoken to big Pricey and he says that he cannot judge how lucky the punch was as he didn't see it apparently.

    It was lucky in the sense that it perforated Price's eardrum, not that it landed.

    So what you are saying is Thompson is lucky that David Price simply cannot hold a punch. I agree, very lucky indeed.

    My 6 year old brother dropped my mam's ipad and she clipped him round the ear. He didn't go doing the chicken dance.. Does that mean my brother would last longer than David Price in a Heavyweight fight?

    Just because they keep saying it doesn't make it true though. Some fighters can take a beating, some can't. Weight really doesn't factor into it.

    Woah!

    Audley is that you?!?

    It really does seem from all the am footage that he, sadly, has really poor punch resistance.

    I suspect the same is very true of Willder too :good

    I was lucky in the fact that it caught Price smack on the ear and burst his eardrum. If it had caught him on the jaw or cheek, honestly I don't think it would have knocked him down.

    Wasn't lucky at all
    Price turned his whole body whilst still punching and his left arm was low, he obviously thought Thompson wasn't gonna punch at that exact point
