In a boxing context, they'll forever be known as the guys Ward emasculated.

You're going a bit overboard. Ward is the best SMW in the world, I'm British and wish it wasn't true but unfortunately it is. As I am someone who feels the best boxers should be earning the most and the money in the SMW division is in Europe I agree, Ward should travel.

The main example of this thread is a dodgy one, because as a boxing fan the obvious answer is that a fighter should take and win the best fights, however in the case of Ward I would rather see him earning the maximum money possible even though I stand to gain nothing out of him doing so. My reason for this is that it shows that if you are good enough you can earn money regardless of your style, if someone as boring as Ward (to casuals) can earn the most money by being the best in the division it would convince more younger people to attempt to become boxers and more boxers/money has a positive correlation with better talent, and better talent equals better fights.

In the short term it's great that Ward can beat everyone around him, but in the long term I'd like to see him make alot of money to show that you don't have to be a cocky ***** to make money out of boxing.

    Witherspoon beating Bruno
    Bradely beating Witter
    Wilder beating Harrison
    Tyson beating Francis
    Ali beating Cooperm and London
    Thompson beating Price
    Hagler beating Minter
    Seller beating Thompson
    Wright beating Bingham,Foster and Dodson

Thats just off the top of my head. Seems to me that Americans are well able to go to Britain and win

does anyone know the ratio of world champs to population from a country?

i suspect the UK is very high on the list and that america is probly lower.

its a bit like why does america and russia allways win most medals at the olympics.

pound for pound the UK is right up there :)

glass chinned Brits who dont want to fight???

    nigel benn #warrior!

martin murray? nazeem hamed? lloyd hunnigan?

i see our fighters as brave but usually limited lol.. odd how the US regards us.

all fighters are protected these days, this nationality thing is bllx.

whats your point for every one of them i can name 5 in the opposite way, lennox lewis' list beats that on his own...fact is in the past twenty years in title fights between uk fighters and american fighters we absolutely destroy the usa!

calzaghe alone is 10-0 against americans in title fights. (2 in the usa)
    hatton 9-1 (2 in the usa + 1 loss)
Lennox Lewis 23-2-1 (18 in the usa)

in the past 20 years weve dominated americans at title level, fact,

Well getting their asses beat constitutes being the "loser" relative to the guy who literally beat your ass.

 Puerto Rico has greater fighters than Britain. Hell my state has just as many world champions now as your entire country.

Who's the best British fighter now? Carl Froch. :rofl

Because its rare for a British fighter to ever accumulate enough decent wins to face a top American champion. Ala Mayweather has fought for 17 years and has fought 1 British fighter.

Whereas top British fighters struggle with our scrubs. Ala Kel Brook getting dicked around the ring by an Oklahoma club fighter Carson Jones.
