    He was cut in the first, I'd say the swelling more or less shut his eye by 3 or 4. Then it just grew in volume.

    Agreed, you need a balance between Buddy McGirt type stoppages that seem a bit too early and not stopping it at all like Tszyu. Apart from how bad the eye was Lebedev looked completely finished after the 10th round and should have never been allowed to go out in the 11th...in the end the fighter himself tried to wave it off which should never be the case.

    Just watching the replay of the Lebedev / Jones fight.

    Couple of things stand out - Jones cut Lebedev's eye in the first round. Didn't realise it had happened that early in the fight.


    Secondly Jones started his career as a Welterweight :rofl

    Yeah especially as he's 6ft 4 too. After the 1st round i thought it was only a matter of time before Jones won, the fact that Lebedev made a fight of it and was probably leading on scorecards at time of stoppage shows what a brave warrior he is.

    Truly great fight though, would have to say my FOTY along with Bradley-Provodnikov...actually probably the best because this had a conclusive finish.

    He'd have called it off as Lebedev was getting ready in his dressing room. Joking aside I hope the guy doesn't have long term eye damage.
