Wlad refused to engage a guy much smaller than him. Whereas a guy like Foreman or Lewis would have simple stepped up and used the physical advantages to impose his will.

I take it you are a young European who is a Wlad fan more than a boxing fan. I love skill and will show love to anybody who displays it. But letting Haye flop around like a fish and refusing to engage him is not a display of skill. It's a disgrace.

Get real! DLH beat a damaged one eyed fighter! :!:

DLH has acknowleadged that he knew going into the fight that Chavez had obtained a cut in training camp leading to the fight.

The first landed jab of the fight had Chavez allready dripping blood.

Anyone that knows even an ounce about startegizing for a particular style would know that Chavez would have normally have taken his time, studied and slowly probed his way to how and what was the best way to breakdown DLH's defense and get inside his reach.
Chavez had done it many times with other matchups, he was known as a slow starter because of it.

But once the blood starting gushing down into his eye, that study strategy pretty much goes out the window and what you have is Chavez attempting to go inside on a younger, faster, and more explosive fighter before its time.

Both Chavez and DLH have been in studio together in recent times and recalled upon the matter.
In one particular interview Chavez stated right to DLH's face, and this is maybe about a year or two ago, "With all due respect to DLH, I was in optimum shape for that fight. Very motivated! if I dont go into that ring allready damaged goods, DLH was not going to beat me that night.
You've got to remember, DLH at that time was still very green and inexperienced. With the cut, I did'nt get a chance to use my experience and teach the kid what it was to break a fighter down. That DLH I faced would never have beaten me, I was in too good a shape."
