Someone said on the Purdy weight thread that there was rumours that Froch v Kessler was off. I hope this isn't true.

Unlikely but if true disappointing for Sky. Is it just me or has the promotion for this fight curtailed off?

It has gone flat as outside of the boxing fans no one is interested as Froch has no star appeal despite being a class boxer. BBC tried to market him and couldn't, ITV tried and had no luck either and now SKY are finding out the same thing.

Another problem was that the PPV stategy was based on having either an English team in the Champions league or at least a Barcelona or Real Madrid in the final...an all German final is their worst nightmare and won't get good viewing figures at all and very little PPV traffic because of it either.

It will start to go over the top on Monday I'd expect.

  14. Not selling enough PPVs - the public remember the David Haye fights

i havent seen one ad for the fight and i havent heard one casual fan talk about it, its gonna be a flop on ppv the fight wil be anti climatic and then sky pull the plug on boxing after the backlash they get for doing ppv again
