What are these rumours about Froch v Kessler being off?

  1. Then it will be picked up by BT Sport so no loss to the boxing fan. Even better is that Eddie Hearn won't have a solo deal.

**** PPV and Eddie Hearn for the dog**** since his solo deal

I think the fight will be a complete bust and probably won't even clear 100,000.

I don't think they'll be a backlash because of the fight though unless it turns out to be a dull affair when they've been selling it for months based on both being warriors and promising a guaranteed war to the buyers.

    Agreed.

A monopoly on resources always gives us inferior fights as you can only makes so many fights in-house before they become boring.

I've seen a few ads around midnight, wouldn't exactly call that peak time.

  5. Both Warrior my arse - they would both quit after enduring 10% of the pain suffered by Lebedev tonight.

It is going to be a stinker

I agree the fight won't be anywhere as good as the first fight which was an over-rated fight to begin with as rematches always lose that factor where fighters don't know what the other has...the rematch is bound to be a much more cagey affair that will come down to who makes the most mistakes.

I bloody hope not as I have ringside tickets

BUT it does make you realise Boxing IS show business as much it is sport.

Hence why Fury vs Haye would sell 50 fold PPV what Froch vs Kessler will.

For better or worse both Fury and Haye are on the radar of the average sports fan.

Froch for some mystifying reason simply isn't.

Audley Harrison, I think illustrates The Salesman vs Eiite Boxer conundrum as far as the public is concerned.

Froch is well enough known. Come on now, hes quite easily British p4p No 1 boxer in a poor era but he is well enough known. Haye and Khan are well known also , but not well liked and are more known for their failures. Fury is on the rise because he is a prospect, exciting and can sell.

To be honest this fight will do well enough in my opinion, although I wont be purchasing I will probably pub it.

Another issue is , there are so many divisions and belts in boxing today. Andre Ward is THE MAN in this division, if he fights Froch again possibly in England it will be a massive event.

Its that chemist idiot trolling, he posted about 10 times in the Purdy thread that sky were pulling out of boxing and because noone was giving him any attention he kept repeating himself. It always makes me laugh seeing people try and troll and when noone bites they just keep repeating it, sad ****ers :rofl

:think Can't say I've seen this excitement?

Nobody knows who Carl Froch is apart from Boxing fans. He doesn't have crossover appeal.

    Froch is reasonably known.

At the end of the day these guys and promoters have to realise at some point that if you hide away fighting on Primetime and other pay subscription channels then you are not going to be well known by the general public at large.

The similarities with all these guys being not well known is they have never had a reasonable stint on Terrestrial Television. Khan got his name from terrestrial television, Tyson Fury is doing it to a lesser extent now. Haye is the exception to the rule.

No was not trolling at all. Someone asked the question on twitter earlier yesterday it was denied so somewhere rumours got out.
