Do your sources still say the Mayweather PPV got under a million buys even with the updated data?

Absolutely yes. I am not going to get into a pissing contest with Showtime but I have good industry sources who swear on their children that this fight will not reach 1 million buys, much less be "in excess" of 1 million and I believe them. These are people with no dog in the fight who I respect and have known for many years and trust. I am told that the number right now is about 870,000 buys. It would take some major anomaly for it to gain another 110,000 plus to go over 1 million. People can believe it or not. I don't really care. If it does 870 or 1M it's not like I make an extra dime. So that's where I stand.

That's still a decent number vs an opponent who's not popular by any stretch of the imagination. If anyone accuses Dan of hating then stfu, he's a big floyd fan and has no need to talk ****. This is the main reason why Haymon and Showtime are pushing floyd to fight canelo as they know that fight does around 1.5m easy and everyone is a winner. Showtime losing dough with figures like this. I have got to praise floyd though, 32m guaranteed vs any opponent  he's a winner alright.

Wonder if there are any agreements in place my showtime regarding numbers. if it's below a certain amount in two continuous fights. Can they pay lower. Probably not as Floyd has a guarantee. But it hurts him too as he gets a percentage of the sales too. So will want to do big numbers

pretty good numbers for a virtual unknown and a boring fighter. im curios to see how pac vs rios does in comparison, considering its 2 guys coming off losses. i dont think it will do much better, but if it does, there will be no doubt who the ppv king is.

It's because Floyd doesn't talk trash anymore or promote his fights. He doesn't have to though as his purse is garunteed. Floyd is always in a no-win situation. He talks trash and sells the fight people say he has a horrible personality and bad role model. he eases up and is more polite people say the fight isn't selling and he isn't a personality anymore.

That fight would do big numbers but more than 870k? I doubt it.

Absolutely almost 900k is an achievement with guerrero as an opponent. Also a sell out arena too that was cheering for floyd! Usually they be booing him. Pac vs Rios will definitely do less as i'm sure the fight is taking place day time in the US?

Floyd is not the kind of guy that doesn't take people seriously. If you bother him enough about a particular subject he really takes it to heart. After people kept calling him boring for years, he went more on the inside (his father changed that now) after people kept telling him he was too flamboyant he eased up.

:rofl who the **** said fight didn't sell well? Almost 900k numbers and a sold out arena is very good with the opponent he fought. Did floyd trash talk in cotto build up? Nope.

They're fighting in China in the morning. When they fight in the morning in China, it will be night in the U.S where people can watch from there. Pretty smart by Arum.

The numbers will go lower and lower, even a Mayweather-Khan fight now wont do over 1million PPV's in the US.

Showtime in the meantime is in full damage control.
They're in a tough spot now wanting to make the Canelo fight.
They're going to fight out real soon here Mayweather fights who ever the **** he pleases! :deal:lol:
