Just rewatched the fight and Khan seemed pretty aware when the fight was stopped

damn referee asked him many times was he good and he was just goofing off

he said he was ok when they called the fite.

Probably stopped it because he was being bounced off the canvas time after time, just a hunch

Khan had been knocked down 3 times badly and was behind on the cards heading to a 10/6 round or maybe a new record of 10-2 if they kept letting him get back up like the old days

    Lol. True.
Khan did show some heart in the fight, but after the 3rd kd, the ref looked him in the eye and didn't get the reaction needed to let the fight continue. Khan was absorbing bombs of varying effectiveness, had gone down thrice. That's the kind of fight you err(not saying the ref made a mistake) on the side of caution. That's the kind of fight guys get hurt in.

I was never quite satisfied with the stoppage. He seemed to be ok and hadnt really absorbed as many career changing shots. It was only the 4th round for gods sake. Had this been going on for 10 rounds or morr then yes that would be a perfect stoppage. As it stands though. I feel it was a bit soon. People forgrt that Danny also had that look of breaking mentally early in that fight.

He could have been the stopped after the first knockdown IMO, Kenny gave him more than 10 seconds (at least 13 seconds) to recover. "Are you okay?! Are you okay!?".

His legs were gone. If you watch the last knockdown you'll notice that it wasn't even a clean punch -- Khan had his gloves up guarding his face, and the shot cuffed the top of his head. Normally it wouldn't have done much damage, but he was so hurt at that point that it put him down. When he got up he was still wobbling, trying to get his balance back, and he had taken a lot of hard punches. He was still aware, but you could tell that he was physically gone. It was a good stoppage.

I feel it was one of those badly timed ones

coulda been stopped in 3rd and could have been stopped in 4th at other points but Khan seemed to be in better condition at that point despite going down

looking at the first person ref cam he seemed good enough to continue though there was enough time for him to visit the canvas again

    probably didnt change the inevitable

the 3rd KD proved why it needed to be stopped, Garcia didn't even hit him cleanly and he fell the the canvas
