I used the wrong word, fannys are useful .
Although the fight should of been stopped earlier, it wasn't, he had a badly damaged eye, it happens, its boxing, people get hurt, these lads know the crack, its a shame these 'boxing fans' don't.
They may as well go hang around canal street in hotpants and high heels

  4. I'm guessing the fannys you mention are actually real men who on the whole have done at least a bit of boxing or follow it with a passion
The difference being they realise that boxing is maybe the toughest sport in the mainstream and so therefore have a duty of care to its competitors

Boxing has lost a lot of lives over the years and still does even in the uk where the care for injured parties is now excellent we have lost one life and at least 2 have had to retire due to brain injuries this year alone

Do you think people are fannies for feeling bad over the Watson,McClellan or young Ali accidents because this was the same a fight that went too long that could of resulted in serious injury

I'm guessing also you have never seen this kind of injury close up or saw somebody bludgeoned horrifically in the street if you have and you still think that it's just one of those things then you are a disturbed person

Also most people follow boxing because its a supreme test of fitness, skills and discipline, not because they like watching people get hurt

If you do I suggest you move on from 'fanny' boxing and go watch bare knuckle or underground fighting
But then again you are most likely all talk

Oh **** i give up, are you typing in hotpants and high heels ?
Jesus im being ganged upon by 2 or 1 of the biggest bellends on the site :) :)

  7. So do you have the same opinion of 'it happens' about Kieran Farrell, jonjo finnegan or Michael norgrove

or do you think discussing after the fight what steps could be made to alter these incidents is 'fannytalk' as well

Nobody who watches boxing is scared of pain or blood but its surely everybodies duty involved in a fight to protect the fighters

Should the ref have stopped Morales Maidana? His eye closed after the 2nd round.

BR seriously man how can you think there not at a disadvantage when they cannot see punches coming from one eye. The swelling on a eye can be so bad that there not sure if there's bones broken or blood going into eye or what has happened to the eye itself.

They are protecting fighters from any serious harm. Boxing cannot be a guessing game. Some scumbag fractured my cheekbone with his elbow, i continued to spar on till end but by end the swelling was already large. That swelling that Lebedev had was horrendus and should of been treated earlier.

You're a crashing bore. Have another pint and go bore some other ****er. :good

  12. I think the point is particularly relevant that a ringside doctor only glances at the eye,it's total guesswork.the injury was obvious to everyone very bad

The worst I've done is broke a rib sparring it was ok at the time but for weeks after was agony.i asked people to take it easy but any contact was very painful.i can't begin to imagine lebedevs fiscomfort

My injury was painful but fine as would recover, lebedevs could be career ending or have a bearing on everyday life.thats not acceptable

Spot on mate, People can't expect a doctor to examine a eye and risk the guy if it's a really bad one. I remember Eubank vs Thompson i was gutted when Doctor said no when he saw Chris eye.

But i'd never want to risk a mans life and i think there's some people who aren't real boxing fans. Saw someone hoping Purdy leaves ring on a stretcher cos he couldn't make the weight. It's like the have no regard for these guys and the risk they take.

Think Skills hit the nail on the head. Ain't to do with disadvantage, if that was the principle fights would always be stop whenever there is any kind of injury.

It's to do with the fact the doctor can't make an accurate assessment of what is going on beneath the damage, and the damage itself shows the eye area has been put under a lot of pressure, so the greater chance of serious injury lurking is implicit in the damage itself.

Eyes are not things to play around with. If you worsen a swollen ankle it ain't the end of the world, surgery at worst, but you don't wanna be losing some sight.
