Do you know if he has very brittle hands maybe?

Hearns used to be a light hitting amateur before Steward trained him to be the man to KTFO Duran.

Also Malignaggi his style isn't meant to force KO stoppages, he's a 12 round fighter.
Like Harry Greb, Greb threw flurries of light but still sharp arm punches because his of his style, he didn't want to be hit. It's much easier staying elusive throwing just arm punches.

If you start throwing leaping left hooks you can KO anyone but you throw yourself off balance 90% of the time.

    Usually born.

Hearns was made though. I heard he wasn't a hard puncher by any means in the amateurs (even lost to Pryor down there), but once he turned pro, he was poleaxing dudes all over the place.

Lmao, what a load of bro science

you can most certainly become fast through training.

Nfl football player Adam Archuleta ran a 4.8 40 yard dash in college and couldn't bench press 225 more than a few times, yet after graduating and getting a real coach before the NFL combine who implemented plyometrics during training, Archuleta ran a 4.37sec 40yd and broke the NFL record for dbs in the bench press at the combine.

    Explain that

Fighters mature at different stages . . . some of the old-timers use to call it getting your man muscles.

He most likely took steroids, but so do 99% of all other NFL players

BUT how do u explain him going from having very average NFL speed and strength one year, and breaking all types of records the next?

How did fighters like Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Ike Williams manage to become punchers in such an uneducated sport? Punching technique hasn't changed since they fought, so someone must have taught them.

Bob Fitzsimmons had scrawny legs and massive shoulders and was a big puncher. So was Rubin Carter. I am not against weights per se, but I don't think punching power is just about having big legs. I think it's the snap in a punch, that can be improved, but comes naturally to some and not others.

If Floyd came out and just bombed away he could knock out many guys. It is a matter of commitment, which is why Hearns got stopped a few times. He committed to knocking out Leonard and Hagler, and it was a gamble. But he came to fight.
