A lot of people on this site like to talk abot fighters who have fallen from grace. Well, Denis lebedev is probably the hardest fall in a longtime. This guy went from bEating Toney and RJJ in the same year to getting brutalized by guiellermo Jones.
Oh well, I guess he was overrated. Had higher hopes for the guy.

  2. Lebedev showed a good fight, but Jones is just a beast. Best Cruiser out there. Lebedev just overpowered in the first health and couldn't crack Jones' iron chin. His eye injury played also a role.

Fighting those versions of RJJ and Toney is probably more disgraceful than his loss last night.

He fought a tough fighter with an iron chin that had a massive size advantage on him and did his best despite horrific eye damage from the beginning of the fight. It wasn't one sided by any stretch- Lebedev won more rounds because his power shots couldn't miss. Jones just had a diamond chin.

I'm not disappointed in either fighter for the effort they put on yesterday and neither one has anything to be ashamed of. I hope they didn't leave too much of themselves in the ring.

What really was a disgrace was Kostya Tszu's refusal to protect his fighter and instead choosing to relive his own ass whupping that Hatton put on him.

There is nothing disgraceful in that loss.

Maybe not, but Lebedev was certainly overrated due to beating two shot all time greats. He's a tough guy, but really nothing special amongst world class fighters.

Having an eye with a propensity to develop into looking like Sloth is hardly a skill issue, though. Lebedev is a knockout puncher who was landing knockout shots on an oak tree that wouldn't fall. He's not an ATG cruiserweight, but he is legit world class.

That was probably the best Lebedev i had seen, his jab had never looked that sharp and accurate and he landed more than twice as many power punches as he usually does. Unfortunately, he was facing someone who seemed unfazed by his punches and kept coming forward, for some strange reason that we may discover when the doping test results are announced.

Jones was just much tougher. He had this next level chin. I dont think there is any Cruiserweight who could take the power shots Jones took. Also dont forget that Lebedev won most rounds. If Lebedev can recover from this fighter he still can be a force in this division.
Also Toney and Roy Jones never were his best wins.

Lebedev really looked not bad. He showed a good and sharp jab and great power punches. At the end Jones was just a monster in that ring and Jones would win against most (or even all) Cruiserweights.

    The fight is disgraceful.
Lebedev made a name fighting shot to **** hall of fame fighters looking for a check.
He pulls up Guermillo thinking he has another old name he is gonna beat for a easy check who is over the hill and past it and too his surprise this one has a great chin and as a little more left in the tank than the others and gets his career ended because Koysta doesn't give a damn about him.

    karma is a mother****er.

Lebedev was Jones's mandatory roughly two years ago and in that time Jones and King backed out of three attempts to make the fight. The WBA finally made Jones Champion in Recess and gave Lebedev an Interm belt then upgraded it after the third time Jones backed out. As soon as Lebedev tried to fight Chambers King and the WBA announced the WBA Unification was happening now and it did. Lebedev didn't choose anything and it would have happened a long time ago if it wasn't for King.
